I actually wrote a paper on this in college for my "Comparative Religions" class. I presented conclusions and evidence that most people tend to form their religious beliefs around their lifestyles rather than the other way around; and those who design their lifestyles arounf their religious beliefs are in the minority. I got an A on the paper. For example, many do not become Adventisists because they think Sabbath-keeping is extreme; or they "can't" quit drinking or smoking. Quote

I get the impression many times if we claim to love the Lord he is going to wink at that which we say, "Well others are doing worse" or "God made me this way" "Or I am not convicted my lifestyle is wrong even tho there is a clear instruction biblically" "Those so called Christians were unkind to me" Will any of those excuses/reasons for our behavior fly when Christ returns? Is claiming to love the Lord sufficient as I pursue a life of prostitution when Christ returns? Attached to Him Who is our Strength to overcome, we have His Power to overcome evil with good. And God waits throughout our lifetime for us to become overcomers. There's hope while alive. Quote
