Amelia Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 It's 1:48pm Sun and it's just started snowing here in Fairview, Oregon. Later it's supposed to turn to ice. LOL I sure am glad I went to the store this morning. Now I'm snug at home. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smow.gif" alt="" /> Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 18, 2005 Members Posted December 18, 2005 I'm just west of you, Amelia, at the foot of the Coast Range - about 1 inch of snow here so far! Nicodema Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Is that your town Amelia? Pretty. I wish we'd get some good snow here. We've had two small snows this year. Last week there was a huge winter storm warning which was much ado about nothing; all we got was a bunch of rain. I'd like some snow for Christmas. cricket Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 It snowed here this morning, but just a light snow. Temperature dropped to 27° F; too cold to be delivering oranges, grapefruits and tangerines!! Quote
Nicodema Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Hey, how about you send some of that a little north and east, eh? Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
Amelia Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 Would you like some of the sleet that is now falling, too? It's already getting ugly out on the streets and hwys. Nicodema Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Errrrmmm, no thanks, Amelia, I'll pass on the sleet! Just pure snow here please. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot

Clio Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 We've had snow for months... but Thursday it was 43 above! And melted a whole bunch of the stuff... even though we still have plenty. We even had enough of a thaw to start all my springtime leaks dripping in the house... It's been an amazingly warm winter.... It's only been 35 below zero once for a week. And it's been above zero almost the rest of the winter. Amazingly warm. I can't believe I've only had to use my winter gear for a week.... Clio Quote A heart where He alone has first place.
Neil D Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Quote: Amelia said: 17 degrees right now where I am. I was in Portland, yesterday, at the Lloyd Center Mall...We left Portland at 3pm, and got home at 530. I was supposed to work today in Portland.... That road, last night and today was slicker than ....well, ice cream going down a kids throat wasn't as slick as this....And the people driving on the freeways were driving close to other cars, and sliding all over the place....I am sorry, but some of the lowlanders here in Oregon, just don't know how to drive in snow and Ice....The oregonians are scary when it comes to driving...! Amelia Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 Thats cause we dont get it that often. Plus many of those drivers are just nuts. I bet you alot of them were saying they could drive in the snow and ice. Neil D Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Yeah, and most of them were the 4 wheelers in thier big trucks and SUV. None of them with the common sense of experience.... well that will change before the day is out....add to that a ticket for reckless driving from our local constible/state police and I am sure that the he-man image will slow make way for some common sense.
