Thank you, all of you for your comments on my shot.

I actually shot over 50 photos of the  nest.  Most were not of any value.  But, that one just happened to come out well.  Here is the next one in the series of photos that I shot.

For your photo bugs, the following is the data for both photos:

Nikon D 90, 300 mm

1/1250

f 5.6

ISO 400

Recorded in RAW & JPEG  RAW was at 3216 x 2136

Camera was on a tripod and I used a hand-held electronic shutter release.

One of the nice things about it is that it can be set to record in RAW, JPEG and both.  I record in both.

One thing to keep in mind is that when an animal is done having its photo taken, you are done taking it.

At one point, this bird turned its back to me, lifted the tail feathers and  mooned me.    I can't post it here as I deleted it due to the fact that I did not consider it to have any photographic value.
