bonnie Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 (edited) WHAT DO ADVENTIST AND OTHER bible professing Christians who are now promoting ordination of women say about calling God "She" instead of HE. Some are going to rewrite the text to be either gender neutral or feminine. Read the article. B/W Photodude Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I recently posted regarding women bishops in the Anglican church wanting to change the language referring to God recently. Seems to be another of those disappearing postings. First female bishops prompt call to recognise equal status of women by overhauling official liturgy using male language to describe God. Members phkrause Posted June 11, 2015 Members Posted June 11, 2015 Will be a book I will not be reading anytime soon or later!! If by some chance I do read it, it will be out of curiosity, just to see how low people can get. There are a few other books that have been rewritten, that I have not and probably wont be reading either!! sd4a Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Hi Well it is not just male, and not just female. Yet it is both. Which will prove to be the most controversial or revolutionary verse in the whole Bible? Seems like Psalms 45:7 The Hebrew language was cultivated as the most sacred tongue in the world. A spirit of devotion was cherished. Not only were students taught the duty of prayer, but they were taught how to pray, how to approach their Creator, how to exercise faith in him, and how to understand and obey the teachings of his Spirit. Sanctified intellects brought forth from the treasure house of God things new and old. {RH, October 30, 1900 par. 12} The art of sacred melody was diligently cultivated. No frivolous waltz was heard, nor flippant song that should extol man and divert the attention from God, but sacred, solemn psalms of praise to the Creator, exalting his name and recounting his wondrous works. Thus music was made to serve a holy purpose, to lift the thoughts to that which was pure and noble and elevating, and to awaken in the soul devotion and gratitude to God. {RH, October 30, 1900 par. 13} Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Note there, that both were called "Adam". It was the man that gave her the name "Eve" after the fall. God gave them both "dominion" or ruler-ship over the earth. But tell me how you taking this, so far? We are being told that the "Godhead" is a family; Father, Mother, Jesus Christ as a son and Another as daughter. So check it out and let me know what you think. Questions welcome. Well in almost every place we see "God" in the Bible it is from Elohim, or another form that literally means "Goddess". Check it out, but Exodus 6:3 "God almighty" is said to be "El Shaddai", which is "Mighty Breasted One". Now this one is purposely admitted to. They said they apparently wanted to make things more clear, but in reality it has something to do with obscuring the fact that Jesus is God (Elohim). A careful examination using Yahweh every time "Lord" is used, will show again "four". One speaking to Abraham (18:20-33), Two who went on to Sodom, and whom Lot called Yahweh (19:1, 2, 18), and One more in heaven (19:24, 25). Gen 19:29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt. In any instance four is denoted. As to the Bible, I would have to say, men corrupt everything they put their hands on, whether wittingly or unwittingly. Yet nothing is lost with God. Quote
whbae Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 What is the matter with those women who insist God to be a female. Are they carrying a some sort of complex? The Bible clearly states that God is He. Jesus said Father in heaven. Is father female? Those women should be reeducated about the Bible. There is no point of any further discussion! Quote
sd4a Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Well some may be, but there is truth to the idea. Hard to accept at first, but it is clear in the original languages from which we have received all our English Bibles. It is really not our fault that they did not transfer everything. Take Care Quote
