The following is based upon an article written by John Bear, who writes for the Boulder CAMERA and the Longmont TIMES-CALL  While the information comes from his article, the style, below, is mine.

Boulder County has some six (6) Bald Eagle nests where the birds raise their own each year.  About ten (10) weeks ago an eagle pair hatched two (2) chicks.  As is the custom for eagles the parents took turns feeding and caring for them.  In late May, the female parent was electrocuted while attempting to provide food for the chicks.   At that time the male parent took over the full responsibilities of obtaining food, feeding the chicks and caring for them.  In a highly unusual event a female eagle has joined the male parent, about a week ago.  She is caring for the chicks while the male is out and about searching for food and she has begun to mate with the male parent.   At this point in time, she is not feeding the chicks.   But, she is otherwise helping to raise them.
