Moderators Bravus Posted June 18, 2015 Moderators Posted June 18, 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/19/qa-review-predictable-fred-nile-deflated-by-wholesome-julie-mccrossinQ & A is a weekly panel discussion program on the Australian ABC (a public broadcaster a bit like PBS), in which a host (usually Tony Jones but in this case guest Tom Ballard) asks questions to a panel that then discusses them. Members of the live audience can also ask questions, and people can send in questions in Twitter. The episode that ran last night is reviewed here. International readers won't be familiar with the Reverend Fred Nile, who has been a politician in New South Wales for many decades.I'm posting this partly in response to the thread asking about what LGBTIQ meant a week or two ago, and partly just because I think it's an interesting discussion to have.Unfortunately although those in Australia can re-watch the episode on the iView on-demand service, I think that's geoblocked for people elsewhere... unless they use proxies or other means. This is a decent review. Quote Truth is important

Moderators Bravus Posted June 19, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) Fred was there to provide an opposing perspective: the fact that he didn't bring it is down to him, not the format.Q & A was never meant to be Crossfire: it's a discussion around an issue, not a direct debate between two opposing camps. Moderators Bravus Posted June 19, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 19, 2015 The author of that piece displays his own bias by not including Fred in his dot-point list of the participants. Quote Truth is important
