Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 22, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 22, 2015 The Court has released its Orders today. As expected, not order has been issues related to either of the cases listed above. So, now the question is whether or not a decision for either case will be distributed at 10. Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 22, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 22, 2015 Well, it looks like the Court released four (4) opinions today. None involved the two that I mentioned in the OP. So, what next? All opinions will have to be released on or before June 30. If released on schedule, they would be released on June 29. However, any could be released on one of the following other days: June 23, 24, 25, 26 and 30. While considered unlikely, instead of an opinion, either case could be "relisted." That would mean that the case would be reargued during the next term, which would postpone a decision by months. Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 22, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 22, 2015 The Court is expected to issue more opinions on Thursday, June 25. Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 25, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 25, 2015 NOTE: There is a high expectation that the Supreme Court will release another opinion at 10 AM, Eastern Time, tomorrow, Friday, June 26, 2015. By the way, I am aware that the Court prefers to use the word "Opinoin" rather than "Decision," which is the term that I often use. For the "purists," which I often am, "opinion" is the correct word. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 26, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Four (4) Opinions scheduled to be released today! two (2) Opinions were actually issues. The error occurred when the news media was notified that there would be four boxes of opinion issues to them. Typically each box contains one opinion, so it was expected that four opinions would be issues. as an actual fact the Obergefell case required three boxes. The 2nd opinion has not yet been released so we do not know what it is. Edited June 26, 2015 by Gregory Matthews Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 26, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Correction: Two (2) Opinions released today. NOTE: The Same-sex Marriage Opinion went further than was required. In Short. Such marriage is legal everywhere in the U.S. The opinion is sweeping and comprehensive. The Opinion is firmly grounded in a statement as to the Constitutional requirement. Remember, you heard it all first here on Club Adventist. Edited June 26, 2015 by Gregory Matthews Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 26, 2015 Author Moderators Posted June 26, 2015 In brief, here is the opinion of the Court as it related to Johnson. Held: Imposing an increased sentence under ACCA’s residual clauseviolates due process. Pp. 3–15. (a) The Government violates the Due Process Clause when it takes away someone’s life, liberty, or property under a criminal law so vague that it fails to give ordinary people fair notice of the conduct it punishes, or so standardless that it invites arbitrary enforcement. Kolender v. Lawson, 461 U. S. 352, 357–358. Courts must use the “categorical approach” when deciding whether an offense is a violent felony, looking “only to the fact that the defendant has been convicted of crimes falling within certain categories, and not to the facts underlying the prior convictions.” Quote Gregory

hch Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Something unimaginable happened. I never thought it would happen till a short time ago. BTW GBU hch Those watching Bible prophecy should have had no difficulty foreseeing that decision before the fact. From Heaven's prospective, it may have been unimaginable. But by this decision, America's Supreme Court has declared the US independent of God's rule and has set up a standard that it deems to be fair and lawful. If God approves of the court's action, He will bless US. But if man's attempt to set himself up as being equal to God is seen in that setting, then God will now remove His special protection from our nation and retribution will follow. What should we expect now? As I read prophecy: Iran will attack the US fleet in the Gulf. President Obama will do exploits against the Covenant. America's constitution is a covenant between the citizens and the government. And God's covenant between Himself and man are the ten Commandments. So don't be surprised if America and Iran go to war very soon and if the fighting comes to America in a way that she has not seen in almost two centuries. But if I should be wrong, there will be peace and prosperity from sea to shining sea. Quote His child Henry Bible student/Author https://www.loudcry101.com
