Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 4, 2015 Author Moderators Posted July 4, 2015 (edited) NOTE: It is not possible to accurately give a figure as to the number of delegates who actually voted for him. Some believe the 90% figure that is suggested above is to high and may actually be lower than 69 %. But the actual figure will probably never be known. Where did this come from? Some believe that as many as 31% voted against President Ted. It is known that some did not vote at all. So, if the 31% is accurate, less than 69% voted in favor of him. B/W Photodude Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 For more perspective on the election of President Wilson and events associated with it see: [deleted] It should be noted that the above was highly untypical. Looking thru all the comments and reading what some of the delegates did on the floor, suggests the NAD is a rather embarrassing part of the SDA church to be a part of. I hope this kind of behavior doesn't continue all thru the conference. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 4, 2015 Author Moderators Posted July 4, 2015 (edited) July 5, 1985 was the official birth of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries. Now it has become a full-fledged department in the NAD and is separate from, but under the department in the GC. People from 168 countries have registered with the GC. Many are simply visitors with no official function who only want to see what is happening in their Church. Some visitors have come from China. Johann Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Quite a few of my Face Book - and other - friends are there now. I noticed one of them made it to the nominating committee. A female minister whose grandparents and great-grandmother were members of the church where I was ordained as en elder when I got my first district in 1959. Very dear friends. Quote
Johann Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Seems like it was in the beginning of December when I talked to a friend on the phone. He was quite excited because the General Conference had invited him to attend the Session in San Antonio. He was to be introduced there as the author of the Sabbath School lessons starting on July 4, 2015. His name was Borge Schantz, and he died on December 12. Before he died, his talk for July 4 at San Antonio was already in his computer, according to information given me by his widow, Iris Schantz. She has now abbreviated his talk and translated it from English to Danish and she will present it next Sabath at a session for Danish and Norwegian SDA seniors, who will also be watching the Sabbath services at San Antonio on a screen. After Borge died, TED invited Iris to be a deligate, but she declined for health reasons. Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 7, 2015 Author Moderators Posted July 7, 2015 50 People came from China some of whom were deligates. China now has 400000 SDA members Quote Gregory
