What is interesting is that this is not the only area of the Obama presidency that has been more to the right than many not he right are will ing to give him credit for.  On national defense and military action he has been far more hawkish than one would have thought he would be.  On economic policies he has been truly a moderate.  Hardly the socialist of the extremist rightwing rhetoric.
