Sending Rain on the Just and Unjust

"... for He makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:45)

Sometimes it looks like that God does not literally do this.

But I wonder -- Is it possible that God actually DOES send rain on the just and on the unjust, but that humanity has the power to turn it away?

Again, does He pour out His blessings to everyone, but we can turn these away, or block them (either partly or completely)?

To me it looks like the prophet teaches this when he says :

The Lord our God "gives rain, both the former and the latter, in [its] season... Yet your iniquities have  turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you." (Jer 5:24-25)

Iniquity can "turn away", deflect, or block, the things that God sends.

In so many ways I think God is much, much, better than we know.

You know Stewart I have accidentally come across Permaculture with its many topics and have discovered that what we have been doing for centuries has been increasingly going against nature and destroying it, which in turn is affecting our climate.

For instance, I always thought to have a garden it was rototilled or spaded and then over time fertilizer was added and on and on. Spading may not be too bad, certainly the lesser of two evils, but rototilling destroys the dirt and necessary earth critters eventually hard-panning an area, machinery even more so which of course means increased fertilizers which earth critters do not like.  We are, and have been, steadily destroying this earth with our industrialized lifestyle including farming and cattle farms, goat and sheep all trampling the earth and poisoning the air, and on and on it goes.

I don't think this quite what you are thinking but I do believe it is a relevant perspective. God does indeed bless the good and evil. We do indeed destroy (curse) those blessings which affects the guilty and innocent. :(

A better way is to put down natural compost that feeds those earth critters, and some you don't really want, then over time we end up with richest naturally fertilized dirt all worked for us.
