Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 8, 2015 Moderators Posted July 8, 2015 As I write this, I am sitting in my office, in my home, reflecting on the General Conference Session in San Antonio. As many of you suspected, I attended along with my wife. WE had planned to stay through to the end. But, we changed our minds, saved some money, and flew back today. We actually went a few days early and attended meetings of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries. We were not able to attend the NAD ministerial meetings in Austin. We also attended the Session in Atlanta in 2010. Frankly, the time I was there wore me out. Perhaps just my age? Personally, I received the most benefit from my interaction with denominational leaders and others in the Conventions Center exhibit halls. By today, I had acomplished everything that would be of benefit. By leaving today, the financial saving to us was substantial. Much of my postings on the Session came from official releases and personal conversations with others. I may have more to say later. But, for now, I am exhausted. Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 9, 2015 Author Moderators Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Yes, my wife and I experienced this and it was interesting. The best that we experienced was a Mexican restaurant that did not change it menu. It have several vegetarian selections and did substitutions free of charge. For lunch it had two enchaladas, (Sp), rice beans, bread, and a very small bowl of soup, for $6.75. All items were free of pork and other meat. It was a little distance from the Convention Center, but could be walked. Another choice was The Greens restaurant. It also could be walked, but most would want to have transportation. It is a total vegetarian restaurant, which could make most of their items vegan. The owners were SDA and it was closed on Saturday. It did a huge business from those attending the GC Session. A group from the Virgin Islands bussed some 30 people to that restaurant. Other groups sent large numbers. Their items were delicious and often very healthy. It is very well known in the SA area and business is so good that the family has two restaurants in different parts of the city. Edited July 9, 2015 by Gregory Matthews Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 10, 2015 Author Moderators Posted July 10, 2015 This was not the first GC Session that my wife and I have attended. However, as we evaluate our experience there we believe that this one was the least well organized. We expected better from those that spent the huge sum of money needed to put it on. Quote Gregory
