Robert Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 I've have two friends at work, one an atheist; the other an agnostic. The atheist states that science has proved there's no God. The agnostic is open to the idea, but needs proof of his existence. About a week ago the Pope came up (I think it was about him teaming with the US government to oppose slavery throughout the world). He knows my views on the Papacy; so I said to him, you know how you need proof of the supernatural, i.e., God? He didn't make a comment. I continued: According to Bible prophecy no one will question the supernatural because the anti-Christ will perform undeniable miracles (see 2 Thess 2:9), even bringing fire down from heaven in the sight of men (see Rev 13:13). I said there will be no denying of the supernatural. The only problem is this "god" (see 2 Thess 2:4) is not the God I speak of, but rather backed by "the god of this world". Well, he said, I'll kill myself if that happens. And I replied, why? As long as you sanction this power then you can keep your bank account (he & his wife have plenty in stocks, etc.). Only those who oppose this miracle working god will not be able to "buy or sell" (see Rev 13:17). Yes, atheists & agnostics might remain so even in foxholes, but not when the anti-Christ appears. Lauralea Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Good thought Robert. It is more than relying on miracles that will enable us to be right with God. Quote Behold what manner of love the Father hath given unto us.
Robert Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 Clearly those relying on "miracles" for evidence will be deceived. That's why Paul said, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts" (Heb 3:7,8) Today is the time to accept Christ. Those who need proof first will be deceived. Not only will they be deceived, but they will become our enemies. Quote
Robert Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) Let's look at Paul's prophecy concerning the coming apostasy: 2 Thess 2:1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him (i.e., the 2nd coming), we ask you, brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day (i.e., the 2nd coming) will not come until the falling away (i.e., the great apostasy) occurs and the man of sin is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity is already at work; but the one (i.e., God) who now holds it back will continue to do so till he (i.e., the man of sin) is revealed. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming (i.e., at the 2nd coming). 9 The coming of the lawless one (i.e, the man of sin) will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth (i.e., they refuse to accept Christ) and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. Rev 13:13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast (i.e., the USA), telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell (there goes your bank account, etc) except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. Edited July 25, 2015 by Robert Quote
Robert Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist (the man of sin) is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. We see the coziness of US government with "the man of sin". From that we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 4:3 ...and every person that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh (Greek: Sarx) is not of God. And this is the spirit of theAntichrist, which you have heard was coming (i.e., the man of sin), and is now (i.e., the spirit of antichrist) already in the world. So "the man of sin" will teach that Christ didn't come the flesh, i.e., he will teach that Christ, as God, did not assume our fallen life indwelt with iniquity. This, therefore, is another gospel. You see Christ had to meet the claims of His Father's law. The law says, "the person who sins he must die". The law doesn't fault the life of Adam before the fall. No, the law finds fault with the life of Adam after the fall. The life of Adam after the fall is the humanity that needs redeeming. So Christ, as God, assumed (as the son of man) Adam's life after the fall. Hence when the son of man was crucified your life derived from Adam died also (see Rom 6:6/7:4). Hence the law of God has been legally fulfilled. Any gospel outside this truth belongs to "the man of sin". Edited July 25, 2015 by Robert Quote
