Sexual offenders...

You may need to be more specific about what you mean, Stan.

The original post could have been more clear. Politics was requested to be left out of it, but "far right" is a political term. However, I will abide by the request except for a minimal note. I posted regarding politicians and listed several with their "problems." What I did note and might be discussed is how conservative vs liberal affects how your "crime" will be viewed and treated. It does seem to make a big difference in politics. "Nuff said.

But after the Sabbath hours, I will look to other areas where this same principle seem to be the operational mode. Religious, conservative, political issues all seem to make a difference in whether people even pay attention. And mass media also seems to have a big part in it.

I agree and it could have been a lot clearer.

Actually far right, is not defined clear as well,  we kinda know what it means, but there is not a good definition. Far right tends to mean conservative in the US as conservative site on the right in Congress, however that is not the case in all countries. and right and left politically mean the opposite, I think Australia might be one of those countries as as well.

I was more talking about those who come in here swinging, letting people know how faulty the church members are, how corrupt the Church is,,,  it is not surprising to see them on a sexual offenders list.  Some self supporting schools, esp ones that have compound like campuses, or the ones I have connection with in my union, seem to breed sexual offenders. AND yes i know the self supporting schools have strengthened a lot of folks.

Maybe when someone knows what they are doing is wrong and keep doing it there is a tendency to become intolerant and critical of others... A lack of conscience and repentance before the Lord. But I only knew 2 criminal offenders, what they had in common was being new to the Lord and proximity to potential victims in an atmosphere of trust. Maybe the proximity and opportunity along with a past history including this type of thing either as a victim or perpetrator and not being a balanced Christian are potential risk factors. Maybe teachers and staff need to be more carefully screened at all boarding academies, and the self supporting ones you knew of may save money by not doing so, but not in the long run.

Behold what manner of love the Father hath given unto us.

Maybe I'm thinking in the wrong direction, but what does religion or politics have to do with 'sexual offenders'? Religion keeps one from being such or can lead to being such? I would have to have to see some scientific data before jumping to any conclusions. For me, at this point, a little to much finger pointing. Lets have some supporting evidence, would be interesting reading.

Having attended both church and public schools and knowing people from the schools Stan is talking about, I suspect there are enough 'offenders' for all groups!

Um Stan isn't necessarily a feminist, he did not name the gender of the offenders, this was not about domestic partner violence, and the cases I knew of that went to court were not he said she said and also did not involve domestic violence. It was not even mentioned as far as I can tell. So if the issue is whether this is on topic, it does not appear to be so and if it is not on topic, there is no reason for people to address all the details.

Personally, I do not like to discuss specific people in any forum and in any way, with the exception that people who put themselves in the public eye are fair game. Of course, there can be fine lines to that. There is no way to know all the details of the situation for a proper response and even if one did, it would still be inappropriate to discuss specific individuals and their private lives, in my book. If the OP post was about a specific person with enough details to know who it was, I would have no further comment. I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that we are discussing generic topics.

Doesn't leave a lot of room for repentance and forgiveness, although my natural tendency is in agreement. If God can forgive murder and use the man in a position of leading a whole nation to the promised land, I'm unsure of any decision for judgment that has no wiggle room. Perhaps a case by case decision after investigation could have some redeeming value.

the victims need to forgive or they will never be healed..  may not be fair but it is how it works.. and it doe not happen the first week, some times it takes years, they find the peace

Restoring to leadership?  Not going to happen, we must never forget, so others are not put in danger.
