Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted August 19, 2015 Moderators Posted August 19, 2015 Every year, for many years, the Boulder SDA Church has put on a Christmas Cantata. This had been done in connection with another Protestant congregation in our area. Their performance members attend our church on Saturday morning and our attend their services on Sunday morning. So, the Canta is performed twice. With the change of our preaching service to 9:30 AM, the Cantata will be performed at 2:30 PM, at the Boulder SDA Church, on December 12. In the past the Church has had a full congregation. NOTE: IF you want to plan for 2016, the date will be: December17, 2016. This reminds me of when I was in grade school at one of the largest SDA junior academies, and the school was presenting the annual musical Christmas program. My dad, not an SDA at the time, was asked by the music directors to be the narrator for the program. (He was a university Speech Professor with a wonderful speaking voice.) After the program, there was a backlash by some disgruntled SDAs over the fact that my dad had been the narrator. Dad heard about it, and it was one more nail in the coffin of his determination never to be involved with Adventism. ***** It's great that the Boulder church comes together with another Protestant church to do the cantata!!! It makes me feel like maybe the "I'm better than you" mentality of specific denominations is being erased... Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
