Dr. Shane Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Iranian President Hopes Sharon Perishes Quote: In the last two months, Ahmadinejad has called the Holocaust a "myth" and said if Europeans insist it did occur, then they should give some of their own land for a Jewish state, rather than the one in the Middle East. He also called for Israel to be "wiped off the map." Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
cricket Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I think that's a fantastic idea! Why don't Europeans or Americans (or any other nation for that matter) give some of our own land for a Jewish state? Quote
Moderators Nan Posted January 6, 2006 Moderators Posted January 6, 2006 I doubt that the Zionist Jews (and I use that term as a description, not in a derogatory sense) would want land anywhere else. They see Israel/Palestine as their Promised Land, where their roots and history lie, and that is why they fought for the creation of the country. I remember hearing a few years ago, a preacher who had visited Israel wondering whatever all the fuss was about, to him the country was just not worth all the strife. But he obviously does not see his roots there. (This is only as I see things, I have no particular feelings about whether Israel should have been created in 1949 or whenever it was). Quote

It's not having land or "A Country" but the location. I think they will fight until the last Jew is dead for their Promised Land. Dr. Shane Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 You are right Nan. Of course Adventist theology is that the Jews are no longer God's choosen people so from a religious point of view, we do not see it as "God's land". Some, like myself, do see the need for a Jewish homeland because of all the persecution they have been through. In the 19th century, such a homeland was being set up in Africa but the Jews migrated more toward Palestine. In recent years there has been some compromises that looked promising but hate-filled muslems like Iran's president will not accept any compromise. They simply want to finish the job that Hitler started. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Dr. Shane Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 It does seem that Pat Robertson is competing with President Ahmadinejad to see which one can have a more extreame religious/political view. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
