bonnie Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) Trump Quietly Helped Marine Left To Rot In Mexican Prison For 214 Days, Whom Obama Ignored 22Aug, 2015by Katie McGuire And some wonder why Trump is still in the game. His credit,Obama's everlasting shame Trump did this without any fan fare or media attention to help this young american that simply made a wrong turn driving. Have you heard about this before today? Probably not, because the liberal media doesn’t want to cover that, but here is the truth: Greta Van Susteren told her audience this week that it was true that Donald Trump helped out Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi after his release from a Mexican jail. Greta also said Obama wouldn’t even pick up a phone to help the Marine. “In all seriousness, Donald did help out Sgt. Tahmooressi. He sent him some money to help him jump start his life. Sgt. Tahmooressi rotted in a Mexican prison for 214 days. President Obama wouldn’t even pick up the phone to help.” But Obama did have plenty of time to go golfing while Marine Sgt. Tahmooressi rotted in a Mexican prison. What a loser. Too bad, that once again, Obama does nothing and the private citizens of America are the ones bailing out our heros. What a shame it is that this is the status quo in America. I can’t wait for January 20, 2017. Edited August 23, 2015 by bonnie B/W Photodude 1 Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Aliensanctuary Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Obama promised the "change" that so many voted for. I don't believe that his "change" was a change for the better. In the words of Obama's minister, "God da_n America!" That goes for Americans, too, and especially Christians and Jews. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted August 23, 2015 Administrators Posted August 23, 2015 Do you even know anything about the case? Do you understand how serious under Mexican law the weapons charges were against him? And how delicate an issue this is in U.S./Mexican relations? Do you know what highest level diplomatic efforts were engaged by the Administration very early on after he was jailed in Mexico? Do you know how many times the US Consular Office in Mexico met with him starting very shortly after he was taken into custody? Do you know who was responsible for and escorted him back to the U.S. when he was finally released? How much do you expect that the Obama Administration really can say about those negotiations to free Tahmooressi? (Unlike Trump's being able to trumpet his alms given after the fact? Easiest thing for trump to do is send money...) Answers to all those questions gets buried in the mudslide of commentary by all the right wing media that makes little or no mention of any of that. Far greater that the loud drumbeat of Fox "News" , et al, false claim that Obama ignored Tahmooressi has been their completely and continuously ignoring the information of Administration efforts. CoAspen Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 The salacious, conspiracy and negative are the fuel to some peoples lives.......especially if a political overtone can be added. The truth is out there, but has become increasingly difficult to find at first glance often times meaning one has to go below the surface of 'opinion', 'blogs', 'editorial', etc that the public is constantly feed. I call it 'fast food news'(ffews), tasty but quite often non nutritious for the brain. Quote
B/W Photodude Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Doesn't really matter what "high level" negotiations go on, they need to be backed up by a successful leader. This Marine did not have that luxury. Reminds me of the events of the embassy hostages in Iran during the Carter administration. The hostages spent 444 days in captivity with no accomplishments on the part of the then "leader." Reagen took the oath and the hostages were on the bus on the way out of Iran. Reminds me of a political cartoon from then. The text went like this: Cleric: Iman, what is flat and glowing? Ayatollah: I don't know. Cleric: Iran after Reagan becomes president! Ayatollah: I don't get it. Cleric: Ponder it, Iman! I still say Jimmy is the happiest man in America regarding the current POTUS, because he is no longer the worst president that there ever was! Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted August 24, 2015 Administrators Posted August 24, 2015 How again did this end? And who brought him out of Mexico? Who was that team working for? Fox News and Greta? For Trump? Did anyone from from Trumps camp or Fox News and Greta meet with him in prison numerous times after he was taken into custody? As with so many things the Obama Administration has accomplished, the right wing propagandists seek to minimize it and spin it to look like nothing was accomplished at all. B/W Photodude Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 214 days in a Mexican jail says a lot. A different leader could have made a difference. Time to stop letting Americans suffer in foreign prisons over nothing. How long will Pastor Abedini stay in the Evin prison in Iran, along with the other Americans. The current regime can negotiate deals over nukes and money, but forget about the Christians. B/W Photodude Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Perhaps they should not break the law. Just sayin' I do not know if you have ever been to the American-Mexican border at Tiajuana (not sure of this Marines exit point), but it is confusing and easy to get into the wrong lane and you are into a different country. Which is what happened to this Marine. He made a wrong turn and couldn't get back before they found his guns. So, he made a driving error. Match that up to "Fast and Furious" where guns were intentionally given to criminal elements in Mexico for the supposed purpose of being able to track their movements and the charge has been made that at least one American has been murdered by guns made available to these criminal elements by the current regime. Did anyone from from Trumps camp or Fox News and Greta meet with him in prison numerous times after he was taken into custody? Greta Van Stusteren tried and was denied. They were given permission, waited two days and then denied the opportunity. Who would have been expected to be the ones officially bringing this man out of Mexico. As for who they were working for I will take your unimpeachable word for it that you know and are not assuming it was for themselves. If that were my son I really can't imagine I would care. So said Trump... (He owed her that for letting it be known he gave the guy money! Considering your excellent record of demanding proof of every opinion/thought of a conservative I am sure that you have proof of payment. You would never do what you chastise others for. Do tell what she actually did in terms of negotiating his release and actually getting him out of there!! She was the one along with Montel Williams that kept up the pressure and the story alive for months. Very possibly leading to the two congressional hearings that did include Obama's lack of response. I haven't looked recently but Obama's response and involvement falls far short. Didn't take him long to offer sympathy to poor, abused Sandar Fluck and with a personal phone call. Did he show the same concern for abuse at the hands of Mexican jailers? Did he call the families of the murdered at the recruiting center? Did he attend their funerals? Did he order flags at half mast before he was shamed into it? Did the media know about the gift from Trump? Either they did or they didn't. If they did then did they just forget to mention it because of their own lack of interest and coverage? Or as quietly done as this was and I believe it was at the time as this is the first hearing about it. Trump is not shy about tooting his own horn.
