B/W Photodude Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I agreed with a lot of the comments of the readers. What is he talking about? Quite a good job of sitting on the fence with perfect balance! Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted August 23, 2015 Administrators Posted August 23, 2015 It should be rather obvious what he is talking about. He is quite clear for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. He is talking about a specific type of behavior that really shouldn't be tolerate. We try to curb the same type of behavior here. JoeMo 1 Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted August 24, 2015 Administrators Posted August 24, 2015 As clear as the article! Focus your attention on the 5th and 6th paragraphs... CoAspen Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I read the article when it first came out, it was clear then. I reread it again, it is still clear. I assume that out of kindness, he did not name names or organizations. JoeMo 1 Quote
B/W Photodude Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 It seems that either side of this discussion could say the same of the other relative to this article. I have seen a lot of mudslinging by the proWO side. I say this because I am assuming that you are believing the author is proWO because you think he agrees with you. However, a lot of vitriol get flung at the president of the church and all those who won't capitulate to the proWO side. The article seems to be a Rorshach test and you get what you want out of it. CoAspen Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 `Actually, I don't assume anything! There is more negativity going on toward the church than just WO. There are organizations that tear at the church for a variety of reasons, all having to do with what they think the church should be doing. For those that think the article was just about WO, I didn't see that way. JoeMo 1 Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted August 24, 2015 Members Posted August 24, 2015 I don't waste my time with continuously shrill and vitriolic people... the church shouldn't either... Tom Wetmore and JoeMo 2 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
B/W Photodude Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 For those that think the article was just about WO, I didn't see that way. Like I said. Rorshach. You see what you want to. Aliensanctuary Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 There are some people who are happy only when firing their weapons and blasting away at others or some organization that doesn't conform to their standards or ideology. Rather than picketing or demonstrating in order to change others' opinions or beliefs, they can always create yet another organization or denomination that will support their particular beliefs, be it women preachers or coming out of Babylon. There will always be people who don't like you or your actions, and I believe the author of this article understands that and thinks it best to more or less ignore the bullhorns and picket signs performing for the media since you can't please all of the people all of the time. Probably not even some of the time. In other words, if you don't like the way things are going in this sandbox, leave us alone and go find another one to play in. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted August 24, 2015 Administrators Posted August 24, 2015 I don't waste my time with continuously shrill and vitriolic people... the church shouldn't either... I am confident that Bill was not picking sides in that debate as an objective of this article. Perhaps your discomfort with the editorial is that you think he was and was only targeting your POV. Either side of that debate or any divisive element in the Church needs to take a lesson here. I do think that we are in an era where fringe elements so easily have a platform and voice that greatly exaggerates their standing in the community. The impression is given because they are loud or produce much media material that is spread far and wide on the internet that they represent a far greater number and have far greater importance and validity than they really deserve. The bullies need to be called out. Edited August 28, 2015 by Tom Wetmore Kevin H, debbym and GayatfootofCross 3 Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." B/W Photodude Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Perhaps your discomfort with the editorial is that you think he was and was only targeting your POV. Actually no. I do not see him supporting any side. But it is vague enough that anyone can believe that he supports him. And when you tell someone to read a specific message, you apparently think he is supporting you!
