I think I've asked this before, but what book are you reading right now?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Hehe me too. Yeah it's really well written. There's an '05 edition.

This year, I have two devotionals going.

My aunt sent me for my birthday last June/July the EGW to be like Jesus. I am reading that for evening worship. For morning devotions Kay Kuzma FitForEver.

Then I'm working on Patriachs and Prophets to be followed by others in the series AND attempting to skip not a single word or line.

Also Christ our righteousness by the late J.W. "Bill" Lehman and edited by Dwight Turner, a friend from here on the Adventist Forum when it was known as Club Adventist.

And for casual reading there are always the 'organizational books' I get bits and pieces while waiting for appointments. tongue1.gif

I'm reading Ein Kinderfreund by Dr. Edmund Endrich. It's a slow read as I must translate as I go.

That's an awesome book. I grew up in the LL Campus Hill Church when Bill was first presenting his sermons on Christ our Righteousness to his congregation. He was an amazing speaker.

He and his family were good friends of my parents and I often sat and listened as he bounced his ideas and convictions around with my dad. He was also a very funny man, with a relaxed, infectious laugh in private.

We taped each of his original CoR sermons as he gave them, and sent them to everyone we knew... He was an amazing teacher.

(Glad I found this thread, Gail!)

The Bible [well, I'm continuing to read it through in the New Living Translation; didn't finish getting through it in 2005 so I plan to do so in 2006]

His Healing Love, by Dick Winn (for the third time...)

Escape From the Flames, by Alden Thompson (because of your suggestion here on C/A...)

On Becoming Shryock, by Schaefer (because he was a friend of my parents...)

The Darling, by Russell Banks (a novel, for my book club assignment this month...)

The Woman at the Washington Zoo, by Marjorie Williams (one of the most fascinating of all my current books; saw it reviewed in L.A.Times, and am totally enthralled by it. The author died at 47 from liver cancer, and the book was assembled from her Washington D. C. political profiles written for various publications during her lifetime [one, entitled Scenes from a Marriage, is about the relationship between Bill Clinton and his V-P, Al Gore. Fascinating.]. Also included are various essays which she'd written for various publications over the years -- her style of writing is great. One of the essays is about her mother; very descriptive. And the entire last section is her diary of her three years with the terminal illness, while on chemotherapy, etc., raising two young children and still continuing to write for the newspapers and magazines which published her work. It amazes me that she had the strength for such a voluminous output.)

...sorry, Gail, to be so long-winded. But as you can see, I'm a voracious reader.
