LifeHiscost Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 As for the group on C/A I find it interesting that you-all appear to have an issue with it. I ask you this, In the years it has been here has it had an impact upon anyone of you; negative or otherwise? Do you mean an issue with the women's group or just CA as a whole? I didn't even know there was a women's group. The impact on me re: CA has been positive but it might not make others comfortable re: my responses or even my contributions. As I understand the servant of God in this largely godless society, can anyone logically expect to be without criticism, and sometimes even severe criticism if we are anything at all like the biblical example set for us? Administrators Naomi Posted August 31, 2015 Administrators Posted August 31, 2015 The all as in you-all was an error ... What I should have said is that I find it interesting that anyone would have an issue with the sub-group. For clarification, I was referring to the women's group, not CA as a whole. CA has had a positive impact on many people, myself included......as has the sub group which is the subject of this discussion.. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 1, 2015 Author Members Posted September 1, 2015 I was referring to the women's group, not CA as a whole. CA has had a positive impact on many people, myself included......as has the sub group which is the subject of this discussion.. The topic was *not* about Gail's private women's group... are the "comments" from the C/A women's group members that have been made towards me and my opinions regarding women's groups in general to be taken as an example of the type of exchange that would be present in C/A's women's group? Because if it is.... well.... I rest my case... And I'm done with this thread. Outta Here 1 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Bravus Posted September 1, 2015 Moderators Posted September 1, 2015 We'll be a lot happier and healthier as a society when we learn to avoiding hearing "It's not for me" as implying "and therefore it should not be for you either".Pam said that women's groups are not for her. Totally fine. If they're for you, also totally fine. She mentioned some things she had experienced in some women't groups. Totally fine. If you've never experienced those things, also totally fine. Opera is, as a general thing, not for me. Same with country music. Pretty sure black metal is not for you. All totally fine: we can say what is and isn't for us and be saying nothing about what is and isn't for others. Tom Wetmore, CoAspen, rudywoofs (Pam) and 3 others 6 Quote Truth is important
CoAspen Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Me thinks waaaaaayyyyyy toooooo much has been made of Pam's comments. Comments can be just comments w/o any hidden meanings to be gained. Tom Wetmore, Outta Here, rudywoofs (Pam) and 1 other 4 Quote

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 2, 2015 Moderators Posted September 2, 2015 We live in a society in which some decisions are made by majority agreement. I am required to abide by those decisions regardless of whether or not I think they are for me. People who know me will agree that I am independent in many ways. Regardless, I have to put my independence in check in many ways in order to live in our society today. It just might be that I thought that the "women's only" forum was just my cup of tea. Well, those women seem to have decided that they do not want to serve me that cup of tea. O.K. Living in our society today, I should respect that. I should not personalize it. I should not let it lower my sense of self-worth. That is life and I should respect their decision and neither attempt to intrude or complain about it. rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote Gregory
Administrators Naomi Posted September 2, 2015 Administrators Posted September 2, 2015 Gregory, anytime you and your wife ... family, etc., .... are in the neighborhood you are welcome to stop by my place for a cup of tea. Who knows, I might even serve up a biscuit Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 2, 2015 Moderators Posted September 2, 2015 O.K. but, I am in your neighborhood and you have not served me with a coup of tea. You said that your neighborhood is "This side of Calvary." That is also mine. By the way, my wife likes herbal teas very well. Naomi 1 Quote Gregory
Administrators Naomi Posted September 2, 2015 Administrators Posted September 2, 2015 Your wife and I will enjoy our herbal tea ... and what will be your selection? Putting the tea pot on .... you-all come on over :) Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
