Robert Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions. While the former lays the foundation of spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome. The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hands across the gulf to grasp the hand of spiritualism; they will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power; and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience. .. Papists, Protestants, and worldling will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium. When our nation [the United States] shall so abjure the principles of its government as to enact a Sunday law, Protestantism will in this act join hands with popery; it will be nothing else than giving life to the tyranny which has long been eagerly watching its opportunity to spring again into active despotism. JoeMo Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Like the video says, this is a Catholic catechesis; meaning it is a pronouncement for Catholics. I sincerely doubt that the Pope can convince the 4/5 of the world that is not catholic to worship on Sunday or face excommunication. On the other hand, Islam might soon be able to militarily enforce Friday worship on big chunks the 2/3 of world that is not Muslim under pain of beheading. The pope's message to Catholics in Philidelphia might be Sunday sacredness; but I'll bet you a dollar that his messages to Congress and the UN General Assembly won't be. If Ted Wilson were to give a message to world-wide Adventists on Sabbath sacredness , it doesn't mean he is trying to enforce that opinion on the world. Just cuz the pope tells Catholics to keep Sunday doesn't mean he's trying to force it on the world. We'll know his intentions by the end of September. Quote

Members phkrause Posted September 2, 2015 Members Posted September 2, 2015 Exactly dgrimm. As the Bible says, all the world will follow the beast and his image. There is nothing at all that makes me believe that anyone in this world will follow Islam. There's nothing to like about what is happening, they have no answers for making the world a better place, but Christianity does and the Pope is playing to that!! There's nothing to like about what is happening, they have no answers for making the world a better place, but Christianity does and the Pope is playing to that!! Funny - over 1.2 billion (15% of the world's population) follows Islam. That's on the same order of magnitude of people who follow Christ. They think that following Sharia Law would make the world a better place. JOENO most protestant churches and denominations accept Sunday as the day of worship and they also have a misunderstanding of what the bible teaches about the state of the dead ---so the POPE maybe talking to the catholic church but all the protestant churches are following the popes lead dgrimm60 I have to agree with you there. One thing Protestants don't do is think the Pope is infallible. Most of them don't drink all of the kool aid. Even if by some crazy way a law requiring Sunday worship would not be the end of the world. However, a law prohibiting Sabbath worship might be ... Quote
