Jessie-Jess Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) By "we", I mean Seventh-day Adventists. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Seventh-day Adventist denomination had a website like Amazon and eBay, but part of ASI, where Seventh-day Adventists could sell their creations: books and other writings, photography, clothing, home made soap and shampoo, and other useful products? Why hasn't someone done that yet? Or have they? Edited September 1, 2015 by Jessie-Jess Outta Here 1 Quote
Jessie-Jess Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 I think I can't afford it, but I haven't looked into it. By "we" I didn't necessarily mean "Club Adventist", I meant Seventh-day Adventists. Quote
Outta Here Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 You might be able to start one up via Facebook. Get it going there, and then once it's profitable, move to a website. Quote
Administrators Gail Posted September 1, 2015 Administrators Posted September 1, 2015 You could contact someone at ASI and run it by them Outta Here 1 Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Jessie-Jess Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) I'm talking about a site, like an e-commerce site where others can open up a store, so I think I wouldn't start it myself (Because you need money to do that, don't you? And also maybe some web programming skills and knowledge and I think I may not have what it takes.). Edited September 1, 2015 by Jessie-Jess Quote
Aliensanctuary Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I think you have a great idea. If you make up a detailed business plan, including costs, you might find enough volunteers, investors, and sellers willing to back you up. Volunteers and investors pay no fees, but you may need to hire a webmaster unless you can teach yourself advanced html or whatever. What are you going to call the website? (I've always wanted to sell EGW Candy Bars and Tee Shirts.) Just Do It. Don't you already have a basic website up and running? Otherwise, buy some Miracle Spring Water from Peter Popup on TV and watch the money roll in by the tens-of-thousands of dollars. Jessie-Jess Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) The sites I have are on wordpress, which is a free service (with an option to pay for more features and your own url without advertisements and .wordpress.com attached, and I haven't taken up their offer yet. I don't do much HTML there. I think that bottled water is helpful in some situations (such as where there is little or no clean water, or you are on the go and need a drink), but a scam in others, so I wouldn't want to do that. Administrators Naomi Posted September 2, 2015 Administrators Posted September 2, 2015 You have a vision, why not spend the present time doing research and putting together a business plan. Your prospectus will be valuable when you are in a position to approach the people with connections and money. It takes a lot of ground work to put together a business plan. There are those with ASI who will know what they are looking at when you present it ... and this time will give you the opportunity to present it as the professional which you are. Jessie-Jess Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 I will consider the advice and encouragement that I have been given by everyone here who has given me advice and encouragement. I will pray about it and see if the Lord provides time and internet connection to do the research see what will come of it. Please pray for me. if the Lord wants this to happen, and if it's acceptable to His will, in harmony with His ideas and plans, then I believe He can make it happen, even if He must use a poor girl (rich in God's blessings, though), who has little more to offer than ideas . Something will come out of it, if God wants it to be so. Quote
