Moderators Nan Posted September 5, 2015 Moderators Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) Obviously caught my interest The prize could be those elusive CA points we used to have...I did not see this had already been suggested when I made the post I belong to a FB group called The Worst Bird Photographs Ever and it certainly produces some hilarious results and comments. I presume each month could have a different category, sometimes serious and sometimes less so. Edited September 5, 2015 by Nan add comment phkrause 1 Quote
Stan Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 I'll have to think about the "prize" for this. Not sure. Atleast give the winner some "Club Adventist Points." lol (someday Stan will tell us what we can do with them ) the can be used where ever they are accepted. Jessie-Jess Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 A travel sized Bible would be a wonderful prize. Quote
Administrators Gail Posted September 7, 2015 Administrators Posted September 7, 2015 A travel sized Bible would be a wonderful prize. That I can easily do! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
B/W Photodude Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 A travel sized Bible would be a wonderful prize. Does that come with a magnifying glass? Many travel Bibles have very tiny print! Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 7, 2015 Moderators Posted September 7, 2015 Yes, for many people that size Bible would not work. Rather an ABC gift certificate. NOTE: For some of you, ABC is Adventist Book Center, Not Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. phkrause and LynnDel 2 Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 7, 2015 Moderators Posted September 7, 2015 Ethical issue: If Club Adventist runs any type of a contest, under standard ethical rules in the secular world, everyone associated with the management and operation of CA should be excluded from entering the contest. This would include all of the many Moderators. NOTE: I bring this up from my years of being a member of Ethical Committees in the secular world. Quote Gregory
Administrators Gail Posted September 7, 2015 Administrators Posted September 7, 2015 I like to include a free magnifier to those who might need one :) Jessie-Jess 1 Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Jessie-Jess Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Rather an ABC gift certificate. That might not work for some either, if they can't get to an ABC, unless it works for online orders. (Then there still might be some...) Is there any one prize that would work for everyone? Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 11, 2015 Moderators Posted September 11, 2015 The ABC is online. I assume that it will take gift certificates. Quote Gregory
Jessie-Jess Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I would agree, if the gift card contained sufficient funds to purchase at least one book or DVD and cover the cost of shipping and handling. Otherwise, it may not be useful to those who cannot already afford to make purchases online, or who for security reasons or lack of a card simply do not shop online. Quote

nuff sed Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I agree with this idea. I didnt want to hurt anyone's feelings by saying anything but I would have a hard time reading small print like that. But a gift certificate of some kind, perhaps from various sources sounds like a good plan. And yes, likely a good idea re forum management team being excluded. But if you make one of the gift cards from Tim Hortons, I'll share my tea with Stan. Just make sure that Stan doesn't decide to give jars of Marmite as prizes.....!!!!!!!!! Nuff Sed..... Moderators LynnDel Posted October 11, 2015 Moderators Posted October 11, 2015 I'd take a jar of Marmite. I need a lot, as I am developing a recipe for Marmite flavored snack sticks. Gail 1 Quote LD
