How is God able to Communicate with His Creation?

Do we still agree with Ellen White, or have we come to a different view?

The Bible shows us God in His high and holy place, not in a state of inactivity, not in silence and solitude, but surrounded by ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands of holy beings, all waiting to do His will.

Through these messengers He is in active communication with every part of His dominion.

By His Spirit He is everywhere present.

Through the agency of His Spirit and His angels He ministers to the children of men. {MH 417.2}

The brain nerves which communicate with the entire system are the only medium through which Heaven can communicate to man and affect his inmost life. CG 446.3

This came to mind.  I don't know how angels and the Holy Spirit do it, but somehow they communicate with our minds.

Telepathy?  As often it does seem to come from within, but not as if myself. Satan, on the other hand, talks to me often as if it was me thinking it rather than from a source outside me.

Or perhaps they communicate on a level we can't hear with our ears as there are wars at times in my mind. If Satan can't read minds he must hear what the "good" angel said and vice versa. (Like dogs can hear certain whistles we can't hear).

For the first 50 years of her ministry, Mrs White wrote that God is "our Father" and He had a Son.  THEN a different teaching appeared introducing "the Holy Spirit" as a THIRD DIVINE BEING. 

Here are a few early quotes:

"Since the sin of our first parents there has been no direct communication between God and man.  The Father has given the world into the hands of Christ, that through His mediatorial work He may redeem man and vindicate the authority and holiness of the law of God.  All the communion between heaven and the fallen race has been through Christ."  Patriarchs and Prophets pg 366 (1890)

"The divine presence of Christ could bring to the aid of the Israelites a power which, when combined with human effort, would sanctify them to God.  So today this Presence can bring us power to consecrate ourselves wholly to God."  Youth's Instructor July 18, 1901 pr.18

The holy spirit IS "the divine presence of Christ".  It was THEN, and it is NOW. 

"God IS spirit" (John 4:24).  God the Father IS Spirit.  Therefore, before His incarnation, God's Son was also spirit.  When Christ returned to Heaven after His resurrection, and was glorified by His Father, the ability to be omnipresent was RETURNED to Him.  Christ then poured out His presence (His spirit) upon the waiting disciples.  John the Baptist said, "HE will baptize you with fire."  It is JESUS who baptizes us - with HIS spirit presence. 

"It was Christ that spoke to His people through the prophets.  . . . "the Spirit of Christ was in them"  (I Peter 1:10-11.  It is the voice of Christ that speaks to us through the Old Testament."  Patriarchs and Prophets pg 366, 1890

I don't know how He does it, but He is aware of EVERY particle in the universe!  Knows my thoughts even before I utter the words .

I've thought about this some, but I don't know too much about how the brain works (but then I'm not sure anybody does; I read somewhere from a specialist something like there are billions of neurons of over a thousand different types, and we only know how a couple of them work), but what I've thought is that our brains are wired to respond to stimuli, so somehow God bypasses the normal process and produces the stimuli directly, or the effect of the stimuli.  I hope that made some sense.

The general idea is that God uses the way the brain normally works, but intercepts the pathway.

On your Bible software do a search for "LORD spake unto" and see how many folks God spoke, (how?) to.

And God spoke to these people as if someone spoke directly to you, in words, face to face.  I would be fascinated to know how.  So when God told Ab to sacrifice Isaac, there was no doubting it was the same LORD who had told him he would have a son.

Certainly different to today.

I've probably posted it far too many times already, but if Spirit is a field that exists throughout the universe, then this is how God connects himself to everything, including little birds and human thoughts. Access to this field may not be limited to just the forces of good, but Christ used Spirit to benefit mankind, to read minds, heal the sick, make food, and predict the future. Maybe Christ did not do these things by himself, but made his requests and Spirit, controlled by his Father, fulfilled them.

The forces of evil seem to have an agenda that does not benefit humanity or our world.

It was Albert Einstein who made a comment about "spooky action at a distance" in reference to a second particle mimicking the spin of another, even though separated by a great distance. This, I believe, demonstrates the idea of Spirit as a connecting force between everything.

I wonder if eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden had something to do with Spirit. By fully connecting with Spirit upon eating the fruit, Adam and Eve were able to access the history of the universe and thus, lost the protection that ignorance provided them. Perhaps they lost the power of telepathy via Spirit after being banished from the Garden, making communication with the Creator a one-way operation where they could no longer hear his voice in their heads.
