National GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he puts his faith up against his top challenger Ben Carson and anyone else and doesn't understand why he's losing among evangelical Christians in Iowa.

The interview was quite interesting. Thank you Phkrause for this post.  While I am still not committed to any specific candidate, I do believe that Dr Ben displayed the same degree of class this morning as has been his personality  through the years.  Its good to observe that his character, under fire & on display, has not changed.

His statement: "I refuse to get into the mud pit," Carson said Sunday on Fox. "The Republicans were there trying to destroy each other. I think that was a huge mistake in the last cycle. And I'm certainly not going to get into that no matter what anybody says." reflects the classic, calm dignity that has for many years been his personal demeanor.

Ben Carson Responds: Avoiding Trump's 'Mud Pit'

"I don't get into the mud pit," Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, said in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "I do have a tendency to be relaxed. I wasn't always like that. There was a time when I was, you know, very volatile."

If anything comes out of Dr Carson running, is we as Adventist will be out there now!

Here's another loud mouth, and I guess he's also campaigning for Trump or thinks he's Trumps campaign manager!!!!!

I have all the respect in the world for Ben Carson. For only the second time in American politics, we would have a president who made his name outside of politics prior to his election if he won. (The first, for trivia fans, is Herbert Hoover as an engineer).

Ummmm, we have had a lot of politicians who made their names outside of politics before they entered the political field.  How about Eisenhower?  His one and only political office was president.  How about Lincoln?  He made his name as an honest lawyer before he entered politics.  How about George Washington?  He made a name for himself because of his character long before he entered politics, and the only reason he ever entered politics was because his contemporaries came to him and begged him to take the presidency.  He was outside of politics before that time.  He never held a political office other than president.

Abraham Lincoln was an elected politician before he even began to practice law. Lincoln was first elected to public office in 1834; he was first admitted to the Bar is 1836.

Sorry but I don't get that impression from this:

Along the right-hand column of the wikipedia entry there is a heading "Member of the Illinois House of Representatives" Under this heading it reads "In office 1834-1842"

The fourth paragraph under the heading "Early career and militia service" begins with the words "Admitted to the bar in 1836, he moved to Springfield, Illinois, and began to practice law ...". This information is consistent with published biographies of Lincoln and primary sources.

It must be kept in mind that at the time, serving as a legislator was not a full-time job and elected representatives continued with their private careers and businesses.

God never said "Thou shalt not think".

I just reread your post and you are correct. I was thinking you meant when he got elected as President. Sorry for the miss understanding.

I think Santorum and Huckerbee won Iowa previously. Carson is that type of candidate.

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.
