Administrators Gail Posted January 12, 2006 Author Administrators Posted January 12, 2006 WELL! I didn't stay in the living room to watch all of it. I went and had a bath (hid in the bathtub) It was some kind of big bust. There were actually 2 vehicles involved. The police were following them down the hill to in front of our house, where more cars intercepted them from the other direction. There were 8 police cars that we could see (there are big hedges in front of the other neighbours' houses). The policemen were hiding behind their cars and behind our fence, ALL with their guns aimed at the SUV and Ford pickup that had been blocked. One by one they yelled at the occupants of the vehicles to come out with their hands where they could see them. They had each one walk backwards toward them until they could have them lie down to be cuffed. One guy they had take off his coat using only one hand and another they had take his pants down for some reason The people coming out of the vehicles were long-haired, tattooed guys and a couple females. There was also a biker-looking dude After they were all put into cars, the cops then proceeded to search the vehicles and finally they were towed away. I have no idea why these characters were considered so dangerous that they were handled so carefully. I hope that something will show up in the paper to give me a clue I also wondered if they were connected with the shooting a few months back at our neighbours' house. I did feel very weird because we have windows all across our front room, and it would be very easy for a bullet to fly through. The bathtub sounds like a safe place <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's where I go when there is a tornado coming my way. That can happen, you know. Last year lightning struck the little satellite dish on my roof. Besides burning out the equipment connected to it, it made the most interesting sound I've ever heard close up. I think I'll amend my prayers about things not happening in winter or on the Sabbath Day to include, "and not while I'm in the bathtub." LD Quote LD

At least in my case ... a tornado. Bathtubs are usually pretty safe places. They are on an inside wall with out having a lot of windows. In 94 we were hit by several F4s. God sent his angels that night. All houses two houses down from me were leveled. I honestly don't remember how many miles long and wide. A lady two doors down was killed. For the most part, it destroyed our sweet little town. I had a 2/4 go through the wall by the front door and had no windows broken or cracks in the walls. my dog, Roscoe, was with me in the bathtub and I had pillows over us. From that day until he went to sleep last summer when the storms would start and the take-cover would sound he would go to the bathroom and pull a towel from the rack and craw into the tub. I don't suppose that the news would include every time that someone is arrested, but for some reason in this case the police were treating these particular ones as if they were dangerous. There were no niceties at all in the way they were handling the situation Our area, the Bible belt of B.C. is just getting more crime-ridden all the time.
