Members phkrause Posted November 11, 2015 Members Posted November 11, 2015 Why attempts to convince state and local governmental officials that they can ignore Supreme Court decisions are legally incorrect and could lead to a Constitutional crisis. http://religiousliberty.tv/supremacy-clause-prevents-states-from-ignoring-supreme-court-decisions.html Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 11, 2015 Moderators Posted November 11, 2015 I fully agree with the idea that Supreme Court decisions must be followed by State and local government. I have no agreement with those who argue otherwise. However, not everything is a Federal case. In the Kim Davis case the Appellate judge rightly refused to decide and issue an order as to specific requests brought before him on the basis that those requests did not involve a Federal issue and they belonged in State court.
