Who has insight into this?

Daniel 12:11-12 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. [12] Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

What is the meaning of the 1290 days and the 1335 days? What events is God pointing out to us? I only know of the death of Jesus as doing away with the daily sacrifice.

These are days dealing with different aspects of the temple year and while I'd be open to other applications if I heard convincing enough arguments; these are things that WOULD have taken place had Jesus been accepted. These are not day-year texts because they are already connected to the 70 weeks which is a year day prophecy and these are specific days that could have taken place with in that prophecy.

Since Jesus was not accepted there will be applications of the events that could have happened in either the last days or in the destruction of the lost at the end of the thousand years.

The first step would be to clearly look at what would have happened to fulfill this prophecy if Jesus was accepted then once we understand this we can make application to a later period.

That's a good point in that it's not a day for a year calculation. I'll have to look into that to see what I come up with little later on.

Regarding Jesus' reference to the abomination of desolation (AoD) spoken of by Daniel the prophet, I believe the AoD is the image of the beast.  When that image is set up in the holy place (a temple in Jersalem?), then that pushes the button for the start of the great tribulation or time of trouble.
