When I talk to mature Christians about the Sabbath I seem to always get the response, "Oh, God's is not concerned about which day you worship on, it's all about the Spirit". It seems so inviting when you hear how fluffy they sound. There is no conviction to follow a standard passed down by Jesus and His disciples. It's as if their belief system is a drifting boat moving along a calm sea with Christmas, Easter, Sunday worship, Good Friday and many other things. How do they reconcile their, non-challenging, fluffy belief system with Revelation 18:4. Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. Will there not be a judgment of these things that came straight from Babylon and into God's people? Ezekiel 8:14-16 So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the Lord’s house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz. Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these.” So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east. Ask them how their family would feel about moving Christmas to another date, for instance 25th of July... Isn't it "all about the Spirit"? Does this involve simply not working on it? Does this involve simply not working on it? Taking a day off from work in not what makes the day holy, the day is holy so we take the day off in light of it's holiness. This does not mean we can't do things to make the day special. As a matter of fact, it's good to make a holy day special. Nehemiah 8:10 Then he told them, “Go, eat rich foods, drink sweet drinks, and send portions to those who cannot provide for themselves. Today is a holy day for the Lord. Aliensanctuary Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I think that one of the keys to understanding the Kingdom is the Temple/Sanctuary system. The Sanctuary system shows us what the Kingdom is like, a place where the sacrifices, feasts, and the laws of the LORD are observed without making excuses. When the LORD is present in the Most Holy Place, he will speak to us and tell us what to do. Most religions of today bypass this earthly demonstration of the Kingdom, and instead create conflicting dogma, doctrine and extraneous "fluff". If we wish to join the Kingdom of YHVH, we should realize that, there, we will be attending the feasts and keeping all of the laws and requirements that govern our behavior. Those who do not understand this have missed much of the blessing of the Sabbath. We can worship on any day of the week/year. JoeMo Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Sabbath is one of the greatest blessings that God has ever given. The older I get, the more I appreciate it. That being said; when I talk to Sunday-Keppers about the Sabbath, I don't try to make it an "I'm right and you're wrong" conversation, or a threat that they will go to hell if they don't worship on Saturday. I simply mention the commandment and witness to the blessing that the Sabbath has brought me. Then it's up to the HS to bring them any convicion on the matter.
