It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 23, 2015 Members Posted December 23, 2015 can you imagine what would have happened if President Obama's daughters were depicted as monkeys? Aliensanctuary 1 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
CoAspen Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Taste is quite often missing in the media...of all types. We are in the age of anything goes, it my right. His only mistake, in my opinion, is to have the kids so out front in all that he does, inviting the tastelessness of the world around us. Quote
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 24, 2015 Administrators Posted December 24, 2015 I am not trying to excuse the monkey portrayal of the kids, but I see a significant difference in how Cruz involved his two young children in his campaign ads and how most other politicians have used their children. He effectively scripted them to speak his political views and positions. Not just a few cute quips in one or two ads. He has frequently used them with significant speaking roles. Now for him to hide behind his own kids when faced with mocking of him and his tactics of doing very much like the cartoon illustrated. It was him using his own kids like cute animals on a leash to Put money in his coffers and to distract attention away from his own lack of any discernible talent himself cranking away on his cheap one tune music box. To fiiegn outrage at picking on his tow sweet little girls seems more than a bit disingenuous given his own crass pandering use of them to be his cute little political poo slingers. We should be outraged using kids as political props, and more so when we fill there little mouths with political rhetoric that I doubt they really understand and would not otherwise have the remotest concern about at their age. That is hugely different than typically showing a politicians family as a normal family without theatrics and scripting the little kids with political palavering. Shame on Cruz too. Shame on the Washington Post for helping him drag the kids through the political cesspool. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
