Robert Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Rom 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools.... If you continue to read verses 24 through 25 you begin to realize that those who claim to be wise end up glorifying "the creature rather than the Creator". So really what fallen men are after is self-glorification or, if you will, self-worship. This self-glorification is even found within Christian circles. After all, according to the Washington Post, the Pope said: "When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so." [ https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/compost/wp/2014/10/28/god-is-not-a-magician-with-a-magic-wand-says-pope/] My thoughts? "They became fools" is apparently a self-fulling prophecy. How so? Evolutionists state that evolution is change over time to evolve matter into highly complex, intelligent forms of life. Therefore, according to their theory, given enough “time” matter will magically create highly, complex, intelligent components! So then, what these guys are really saying is that the unintelligent process of evolution creates very complex, intelligent forms of life. Now, who comes off foolish? Quote

Robert Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 For since the creation of the world His (God’s) invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made (i.e, created), so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God (in their consciences), they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools…. For they (those who reject God) exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. [Romans 1:20-22,25 NASB] Clearly the rejection of God as the creator ultimately leads to “futile” speculations, such as evolution. Not only this, it leads to self-worship, that is, the worship of men’s intellect. This is the essence of secular humanism. phkrause 1 Quote
