NEW ADVENTIST SINGLE ADULT MINISTRIES COORDINATOR FOR

NORTH AMERICA

Barbara Babcock is the newly appointed Coordinator of Adventist Single Adult Ministries (ASAM) for the

North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. For the past two years, she was the NAD

Appointee for the NAD Single Adult Ministries Committee.

After 26 years of marriage, Barbara found herself a Second Time Single because of divorce. Barbara is passionate

about ASAM making a difference in the lives of those who are single – whether by choice, or by it being thrust

on them. According to Barbara, ASAM needs to be “a safe ‘family’ for ALL singles” where they come to

fellowship, find friends and healing, and become an active part of the Adventist Church where they can make a

difference in the lives of others. Barbara has been a strong advocate, and involved in the development and

growth of the restructured ministry for Single Adults within North America now known as ASAM. ASAM is

under the leadership of North American Division (NAD) Family Ministries headed by Pastor Willie Oliver.

A professional musician who started playing the piano at the age of two, Barbara still enjoys music, singing and

playing with her praise team to lead worship at her home church, as well as at Conferences and Prayer

Summits throughout NAD. She is active in many church and civic non-profit organizations, where she enjoys

using her creative gifts in marketing, public relations and fund-raising. Eight years ago, Barbara helped to start

a ministry for young adults at Azure Hills Church in Grand Terrace, California called “Young and Restless.”

Now renamed CrossWalk Ministries (CWM). CWM now makes a difference in the lives of over 1,500 people

each week. Barbara is a Senior Loan Officer in Temecula, California.
