I wonder, also, who truly is exempt. At what point does distorted thinking become problematic? We mortals likely have a different line in the sand than God does, but OTOH the potential for His healing may prove different also.

And he shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free- John 8:32   In this context, this work of discovering the truth and then confronting those thoughts in our minds which are defeating us, may take a lifetime.

More likely - it will take a thousand years.

Only in Jesus can we form one right thought.  God's loving and forgiving  kindness has been generously made available to every human being, mercy upon mercy grace upon grace.  Where sin abounds grace much more abounds.

all are sinners and all produce self centered thinking.

The heart is deceitful above all things who can know it.

there is none that arouseth themselves to seek after thee.

all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

God invites, Look unto me and be ye saved all ends of the earth.

of ourselves we can do nothing, but i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

what a wonderful Saviour, what a wonderful redemption.

Love awakens love.

Let God be true and every man a liar.

I am.  Ask me if you are.

I used to think that my though patterns were normal and everyone else's was weird.  I realized earlier in life that that is not logical. I realize now that I am weird and others are normal.  Well - maybe not weird; but at least quirky.

I am continually reminded how much "self" there is in both my thoughts and in my reactions to others' words.

me too

Heaven is all about the other selfs.

The law in the hearts is all about giving and looking at things from their perspectives.

Paul calls it esteeming others higher than ourselves. Phil 2:3

For all Eternity God waited in anticipation for  You  to show up to give You a Message - YOUR INCLUDED !!! { a merry dance }?️‍?

" If you tarry 'til you're better
You will never come at all "   .. "I Will Rise" by the late great saved  Glen Campbell

If your picture of God is starting to feel too good to be true, you're starting to move in the right direction. :candle:

"My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite."

Distorted thinking is BASED upon a LIE.  The "CURE" is TRUTH.

All LIES result in distorted thinking, IF the lie is believed, and becomes part of the persons belief system - about themselves, or about others, about the church, about whatever....

That is one reason I LOVE this forum.  It exposes LIES and flasehoods.  Even though the misunderstanding of some portion of Scripture, or the misunderstanding of God's character or HIs will, is small.  Even a small distortion of truth, will grow and grow, until it causes great misunderstanding.  The end result is a change of behavior - towards God, or towards others, or towards self.  Sometimes it causes one to give up - thinking God could never forgive their particular sins.

Love is the answer and unhindered Love is the final answer. Stephen is a perfect example.

60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep....Acts 7

Reveals also the point that early Christianity did not put stock in the saved winging their way directly to heaven upon death.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.....Acts 2

God is Love!~Jesus saves!  :D
