Seventh-day Adventist Young People Provide Toiletry Kits for the Homeless   Brandi Carter, an attendee of the 2016 Just Claim It Prayer Conference holds one of the 1000 toiletry kits prepared for distribution by the more than 800 young people attending the conference held February 18-20 in Ontario, CA. ©2016 NAD Communication/Melody George Young people attending the Just Claim It Prayer Conference took time out of their busy schedules to help assemble toiletry kits that organizers will distribute to homeless shelters in the greater Los Angeles area.    The youth traveled from throughout the United States and Canada to take part in a three-day conference sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America. Titled World Changers, the conference challenges teens and young adults to make a difference in the world, even if it is only the small corner they represent.     The toiletry kits are made up of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, razors, shaving cream, laundry soap and lotion. Conference organizers are working with local homeless shelters to distribute the more than 1,000 kits assembled by the volunteers.   Attendees of the Just Claim It Prayer Conference stack boxes of assembled toiletry kits for distribution to local homeless shelters.   “Teaching our young people about the importance of making a difference in the world is a significant part of this conference,” said James Black, youth director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America. “God has greatly blessed us, and it is our responsibility to share that blessing with others. Jesus served the less fortunate in this world, and we are called to do the same.”   The conference continues through Saturday, February 20.
