Sentinel Publishing, 2014, 225 pages. I strongly disagree with certain positions that Dr. Carson has taken. I believe that he has made public statements that present himself as foolish. I have seen him as taking in platitudes, but without any real plan as to how to accomplish what he suggests should be done. In short, he has not been one for whom I would vote to become our President. But, I read. and, I read material that conflicts with what I think. I am currently reading the above book. As such, I am getting an expanded picture of him. In that picture, I am coming to see him as one who has a plan as to how the process should take place to accomplish what needs to be done. He may not have a specific, detailed, plan to accomplish those tasks. But, he seems to me to understand the process as to how to make things work and to put in place a process that would bring opposing sides together to agree on how to do what needs to be done. Process is important. I am beginning to se him in a more positive light. This does not mean that I will vote for him. But, I am seeing him differently. Moderators Bravus Posted March 2, 2016 Moderators Posted March 2, 2016 Thanks, a worthwhile recommendation. Always worth seeking out the 'disconfirming evidence' to challenge our own views. Having said that, it looks as though Dr Carson's campaign is over for practical purposes. He has withdrawn from this week's debate and will be making a further announcement Thursday. FWIW, in some ways he may be better off returning to a smaller stage to enact his beliefs and plans. LifeHiscost 1 Quote Truth is important
JoeMo Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 IMHO, Dr. Ben is still a viable candidate for Vice President should the winner of the Republican nomination choose to consider him. I have held Dr. Carson in high esteem for many years; and, although I agree with Gregory that he may not yet be ready for the Presidency, he is/was one of the smartest and most balanced candidates on the Republican slate. He got very little air time because no one could find much fault in what he said. Yeah; he probably could have stated things more clearly and accurately in his book "Gifted Hands"; but I doubt he was planning to run for president back then. I probably would have voted for him (had he been the nominee) simply because I like him much better than any Democrat. In Colorado, Republicans who are not well known in the Party get no say on who delegates vote for at the Convention. Quote
