This is no longer the age of the elder George H.W. Bush where the people could be sold on a "thousand points of light" and promote a "kinder, gentler nation." Americans want to see carnage - the enemy destroyed and the American way of life vindicated.

We live in a time when the U.S. public is divided on the issues we face as a nation and how to resolve them. This division results in both Democrats and republicans being elected to Congress.

In this divided America, in order to make things work, Congress will often have to give something to each group. No one group can get it all. There has to be some sort of agreement that provides something to the various sides in the debates that occur.

In the past we have had great leaders who have been able to bring the respective sides together in a common agreement in which everyone got something
and no one got it all.

In recent times, that has not happened. Republican purists had demanded an "all or nothing" approach. The result has been that the legislative process has not worked. Congress has been seen as ineffective. The people of this nation are demanding a change.

Trump has come along and has promised to make it work. that is what the public wants–something that works. In a sense Trump and his promises, is the natural result of those who have demanded an "all or nothing" approach.

I am with the "Anybody But Trump" club until after the conventions.  I can't help but think that Mitt Romney is preparing to jump into the fray.

If Trump end up being the Republican nominee,  the election will once again be choosing the lesser of two evils.

Last night's debate was mostly a 3-way clown show.  I'm starting to like Gov. Kasich.

my thought, exactly.

About 5 minutes into the "debate," I went and got myself some popcorn.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

I took another look at Kasich after OReilly said that he was absolutely the most informed on the issues.  I was afraid that he would not support laws to protect the rights of business owners who did not want to participate in SCOTUS "weddings", but his comment last night seemed that he might be more supportive of those folks.

The LORD gives people the rulers that reflect their own hearts.  A lot of folks are voting for him, just so he will "bring back their jobs".  They act as if he can do that all by himself.  Trump has betrayed two wives.  He spent his life making mega-bucks building casinos so folks could gamble and watch shows with half-naked women.

I agree.  If Trump is the nominee, we will have a choice between a mega manipulator, and another mega manipulator.  I just don't know if I can vote for either.  I FEAR for this nation.  I know Trump would bomb Iran and ISIS in a minute.  THAT would bring on the collapse (as in "broken without hand" spoken of Daniel 8's prominent horn on the goat from the West).  Hillary might not be as quick to go to war with those powers.  We might actually last longer (before the collapse) with Hillary, than with Donald.  Never thought I'd say THAT!!

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

I think that Trump sets the tone of the debates by his outrageous insults, and finally, Cruz and Rubio are giving it back. I see both Rubio and Cruz, and maybe even Kasich, as potentially good leaders, but Trump is only playing a game. I suspect if elected president Trump the Blowhard will make a lot of his constituents upset over his presidential games, extreme rudeness, and arbitrary, non-conservative actions.

I disagree, although I have no respect for Trump, I say that Rubio and Cruz are a worse choice!! They are like little babies.

I don't believe that either Cruz or Rubio would be mocking Trump if it weren't for his bizarre insults. Personally, I like their sense of humor in trying to show us what Trump really is, a shape-shifting, foul-mouthed, ruder-than-rude, demagogue, who is unfit to rule a nation.
