I was beyond words when I heard the broadcast this morning.

I posted my thoughts about Carson when he entered the race.

Then backed off and said nothing during the height of the media splash of ignorant statements.

Maybe this time I hate being right about him.

What are the chances of an Adventist entering the National Stage that does not Block JESUS CHRIST in politics and policy?

Ben Carson's Next Move: Ride Trump's Coattails?

Dr. Ben Carson endorsed Donald Trump this morning one week after ending his own presidential campaign. Carson’s move is seen by many as a play for the White House as a prospective vice presidential running mate to Donald Trump. Trump added fuel to that fire, saying that Carson would play a “big, big part” in Trump’s campaign.

Back in February when the Seventh-day Adventist retired neurosurgeon was still in the Republican primary race, he told Fox Business News that if he were asked to consider being Trump’s running mate, “I certainly would sit down and discuss it with him,” Carson said.

“I would have to have major philosophical alignment with whoever it was. I would have to have guarantees that I could do some substantial things,” he said. In his endorsement of Trump, Carson said the two have "buried the hatchet," likely a reference to Trump's calling Carson's Seventh-day Adventist faith into question. It was just "political stuff," Carson said.

Despite a Carson’s rapidly declining poll numbers following his brief moment atop the GOP field in October, Carson did lead one poll--a Morning Consult survey of likely voters asking whom Trump (assuming he wins the GOP nomination) should choose as running mate. Carson led that poll with 11%. In the poll, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio took 9% each, and Chris Christie, who also dropped out and endorsed Donald Trump, garnered 8% of the tally, as did Ohio governor John Kasich. The poll might not mean much; 38% of respondents had no opinion or declined to state a preference.

Since announcing a week ago that he was dropping out, Carson has served as national chairman of My Faith Votes, a Christian nonprofit aimed at getting Evangelicals to vote.

Should Trump win the nomination, and should he select Ben Carson to run with him on the Republican ticket, Dr. Carson’s bid for Washington D.C. will be invigorated, thanks to Trump’s coattails.

Ben Carson Endorses Donald Trump After Receiving A Sign From God

Claiming he received a sign from God, former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson endorses Donald Trump.

Mediaite reports that at a press conference Friday in which Carson announce his endorsement of Donald Trump, Carson was asked what part God played in his decision to back the real estate titan-turned-presidential frontrunner. Carson replied that there had been all sorts of signs from God, including a vision that came to an unidentified friend, then added that Hillary Clinton is of the devil:

Reporter: You said throughout your life God has led you to your most important decisions. This truly is an important decision. Did God lead you to Donald Trump?

Carson: I prayed about it a lot, and I got a lot of indications, people calling me that I haven’t talked to for a long time saying, I had this dream about you and Donald Trump — I mean, just amazing things…

After meandering a bit Carson then launches into an attack on Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, declaring:

Hillary Clinton was a great friend of Saul Alinsky. On a first-name basis with him as a student. He wrote the book “Rules for Radicals” and if you haven’t read it, I recommend that you read it, and see the kinds of things that are recommended to change, fundamentally change, this nation from the great success we have to a socialist country. And the dedication page of that book says, dedicated to Lucifer, the original radical who gained his own kingdom. I don’t want anything to do with anything like that.

While it is not surprising for a Christian conservative to compare Hillary Clinton to the devil, Carson’s endorsement is puzzling to many, especially given the fact that Trump had savagely attacked Carson on the campaign trail.

The Hill reports Carson’s decision to endorse Trump has divided his supporters, with many expressing shock and anger over the move on social media, with many supporters expressing their frustration on Carson’s Facebook page Friday. One wrote:

Can’t believe you chose to support the one candidate who mocks God and is definitely not a Christian. Very disappointed in you and have lost much respect.

Another wrote:

I voted for you even though I knew you wouldn’t win my area’s primary. Confusing why you would support a person who mocks God by saying he doesn’t have to ask for forgiveness and disparages minorities including the disabled and women.

Another wrote:

Honestly I feel used. I feel like you sold out. You speak of Party as if it has relevance in the kingdom. I am hurt and feel like you have used the flag of Christ to sell out for political gain. I will never support Donald Trump.

Maybe instead of blaming Carson, those conservative Christians should blame God. After all, according to Carson, Trump is now God’s candidate.

Carson is probably off target in his reference to Saul Alinsky.  [NOTE: I say probably because I do not know exactly what Carson said.]  Snopes has a nice comment about all of this.  The bottom line is that Alinsky is falsely quoted on the Internet for saying things that he did not say.   

The following is an example of something that he did not write:

7) Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.

The above-quoted list of steps for "How to create a social state" is another example of a political attempt to tie the names of Saul Alinsky with those of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. But the list is not something taken from the actual writings of Saul Alinsky, nor does it even sound like something he would have written (e.g., the line about "controlling health care" is anachronistic for his era, and the idea of "increasing the poverty level as high as possible" is the very antithesis of what Alinsky worked to achieve). This list is simply a modern variant of the decades-old, apocryphal Communist Rules for Revolution piece that was originally passed along without attribution until Alinsky's name became attached to it (presumably because someone out there thought it sounded like something Alinsky might have written).

According to Snopes, here is what Saul Alinsky actually wrote in his 1971 book:

When an action is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear, and retreat.

The fourth rule is:  Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.

You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.

The fourth rule carries within it the fifth rule:  Ridicule is man's most potent weapon.

It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.

The sixth rule is:  A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.

If your people are not having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.

The seventh rule:  A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.

Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time, after which it becomes a ritualistic commitment, like going to church on Sunday mornings.

The eighth rule:  Keep the pressure on with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.

The ninth rule:  The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.

The tenth rule:  The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.  It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.

The eleventh rule is:  If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside; this is based on the principle that every positive has its negative.

The twelfth rule:  The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.  You cannot risk being trapped by the enemy in his sudden agreement with your demand and saying "You're right — we don't know what to do about this issue. Now you tell us."

The thirteenth rule:  Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Ever since childhood, I have understood that in the last days, Satan will deceive "almost the very elect."  Although Satan is evil, he is also very intelligent.   He knows our weaknesses.   He knows that even though we may love and worship the true God, we still have weak places in our psyches.

 Ben Carson may have been nearly close enough to God in his spiritual experience to have been classified as "almost part of the elect."   But it has now become obvious that he is out of his depth, in over his head, and traipsing on foreign territory [politics].  He has no business in politics, because he's a naif in that element.  I would hate to say he's been taken over by the devil, but it appears to me that he (like Eve) has been deceived.   And that old devil, Satan, also knows that if he gets control of Ben Carson, this will give him entree into the persons and minds of many, many God-fearing Christians.

Although I couldn't possibly even venture a guess regarding the private chambers of Ben's heart and thinking and spirits.

I do share the concern and alarming of the rational and the forever repercussions of our nation and our church..

There was a set of rules listed here by Gregory.  Too bad Gregory failed to include the paragraph Alinsky wrote when he dedicated his book Rules for Radicals to his hero.

On Carson's endorsement of Trump....   I have lost all faith in Carson's rationality.  Trump is someone who will enthusiastically shred the Constitution, and Ben said over and over again that our first job is to protect it.  My support for him was based upon his stated views on the Constitution alone.  He has now, in all practicality, reversed his position on the Constitution.
