And at the heart of it is an inconvenient truth about how conservatives and progressives think differently - https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/liberals-and-conservatives-dont-just-vote-differently-they-think-differently/2012/04/12/gIQAzb1kDT_story.html?tid=a_inl Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." joeb Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I have to wonder at both the author of the article and a couple of the comments here. In a society in which freedom of thought, conscience, and religion are guaranteed by the constitution and are the basis of what used to be the greatness of our society, these freedoms guarantee that there will be great divergence of thought, conscience, values, and much more. This has been the single greatest attribute of our society. It was the basis for the greatness of our country. Now, the mainstream of our society sees those who don't accept the mainstream political thought as "the enemy". It is the sure sign that our society is in steep decline and that our liberties will soon disappear. It will be destroyed by the government at the request of the people who see differences in thought as dangerous and thuse worthy of destruction. Those people will destroy their own liberty in the process of trying to destroy freedom of thought. Walter Williams is correct when he speaks of American contempt for liberty. bkopplin 1 Quote Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.Alexis de Tocqueville
