There is an obvious agenda to protect homosexuality by a liberal faction within the Church.

I disagree.  Given the success that the gay rights movement has been having in the courtroom and in congress, homosexuals need no protection from the church; they're doing fine without our help.  Personally, I see the church's agenda is to discourage verbal attacks and public condemnation of those who are TEMPTED by attraction to the opposite sex; not to "protect" those steeped in habitual homosexual activity.  Even if it were a liberal faction's agenda is to "protect" homosexuals, does that make it right for others in the church to rebuke, condemn, and discourage them from trying to reconcile their "issues" to a relationship with God?

As I have stated in other areas here, I am totally against the SCOTUS ruling on federal/state enforcement of gay marriage; and persecution of those who don't cotton up to "the law" based on their reasonable religious objection.  The gay couple's legal action against those bakers is an anathema. That being said I am also against summarily dismissing anyone with a sin issue from fellowship.  If we were to do that, we'd all be worshipping alone.

Just as Christians (or Muslims) are not all motivated by the same things, all gays are not politically motivated to "celebrate" their cause.  Most of the ones I know just want to be left alone and live their lives in peace.

To me this is not so much a personal but a political debate.

Amen!  And they gay lobby appears to be winning without the church's help.

A recent case was reported of a couple who own a bed-and-breakfast in Illinois.  They were fined $80K by a judge, because they refused to host a gay "wedding".

Owners of a farm (who occasionally allowed weddings to be held on their property) were fined $11K.

Years ago my husband and I thought about buying a B&B out in the country.  I'm sure glad we didn't.  So now we have bakers, photographers, wedding planners, printers of wedding invitations and private owners of any resort or facility where weddings are held, to add to our growing list of those persecuted by the LGBT movement.

Never, never, never allow a "wedding" on your property, for anyone not related to you.  You could be the next farm owner fined.

This "issue" with LGBTs will never be solved, unless we burn all Bibles and copies of the Koran, and intimidate into silence every person who remembers what they say.

This is the kind of thing I was talking about in my previous posts - government mandated compliance with matters of faith.  It would be the same thing if the government went to the other extreme - totally outlawing homosexuality and anyone who supports it.  It would have been better if the government and the courts never addressed LGBT issues.  The only people who will benefit are the lawyers pressing these frivolous lawsuits and opportunistic gay political activists.  Your "average" LGBT will get nothing out of this but grief.

Rachel is right - the "issue" of LGBTs will never be solved - at least in this age.

Sunday Blue laws simply restrict the hours that a business can conduct business or do work.  They do nothing else.  At lest in the experience of the United states of America.

Yes, some of us have seen them in action.  As a  congregational pastor, I once had a physician who had Sunday hours as a regular practice.  Under the Sunday Blue law of that State, the police attempted to arrest him and charge him with a crime.

The end result was that he closed his office on Sunday (after some litigation).

Christians are expected to comply with civil law and it is not a violation of God's law to refrain from doing commercial business on Sunday.

Any suggestions that closing a business on Sunday, in compliance with civil law is to receive the Mark of the Beast reflects a doctrinal view that in not supported by the Bible, EGW, the teachings of the SDA Church.

Certainly citizens may challenge the law that forces them to close on Sunday, but they must be prepared to accept the consequences of doing so.

The above post is in responne to Kevin (wrx) asking:

And obey a Sunday Blu Law too?

While all the above may be true, the enforcement of worship on the Sunday as the "Lord's day" and the enforcement of refraining from worship on the Seventh day Sabbath as the commandment of the Creator stipulates.  Identifying those who follow that policy as those who  receive the mark of the Beast.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:... Revelation 13

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:.... .... Revelation 14

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Revelation 20

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.....Luke 4

______________________________________________________________________________________

Seventy years later this is counseled pointing out even with that much time lapse, the seventh day Sabbath was still held as holy.

________________________________________________________________________________________

20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Jesus pronounced non condemnation on the lady caught in adultery

No, but He did say, "go and sin no more." (John 8:11, KJV)

Christ died to give you victory over that sin. "Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities." Acts 3:26, KJV

"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." -Romans 6:6

To everyone else:

We're all sinners for whom Christ has died. We should be working out our own salvation with fear and trembling (it's in the Bible) and also working together to help each other grow in Christ.
