Kentucky legislature removes names of county clerks from marriage licenses

On April 13, 2016, Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin signed legislation (Senate Bill 216) which creates a single form that allows marriage license applicants to choose between being referred to as a bride, groom, or spouse. It also removes county clerks' names from marriage licenses.

Such a simple solution? I don't expect that this issue is anywhere near the end of its lifeline.

Yesterday my senior American government class toured the county courthouse and offices, which they do every year.  In the county clerk's office, we were confronted by a sign that read "We Do Not Perform Marriages".  When we confronted the clerk about this, she explained that her office will issue a marriage license to anyone but not perform the actual ceremony anymore.

Interesting solution.   Probably won't take forever until the list of eligible partner sets includes one man and several ladies or vice versa.

But what's the impact on getting the gospel to the world?

A man and his husband refuse to attend a Revelation seminar because it advocates that they divorce before they can be baptized?

A woman's wife is offended by the narrow minded "Christians" that make her feel uncomfortable?

Dilly dally takes its tally. Kentucky fell; as the steam roller paves the road to hell.
