Perhaps gradually discussed briefly over a couple of sessions. Jesus did not contradict all errors right away. Truthfully though I try to attend studies led only by SDAs with sound theology for this reason and others. Excuse the random capitals from the software. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 23, 2016 Moderators Posted April 23, 2016 First: What is the purpose of the study? Does it exist in a context where people who may differ in their Biblical understanding are expected to share their beliefs? Or, is it in a context where it is expected that people will come to understand something in a specific way, such as a baptisimal class? Let us say that it is in a context where people are expected to differ: 1) Be respectful of divergent opinions. 2) Acknowledge valid points that may not fit your understanding. E.G. Error is usually grounded is something. 3) Simply share why you differ. I will give an example: As an Army chaplain, I conducted worship services on Sunday mornings, as well as at other times. In those services I have preached on the 7th day as the Biblical Sabbath. I have talked about history and how a change came into being. I have talked about the Biblical teaching both as to why people accepted the change and why they did not. I have called for a personal commitment to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Bible. But, I have always been respectful of the people listening to my sermons and I have never attacked and condemned either others or their denominations. phkrause, Jeannieb43 and Lauralea 3 Quote Gregory
