I was made for pleasure

We were not made for disappointments or lies. We were not made for pain or tears of sadness.
We were not created to worry or to be anxious for anything. We were not created to be abandoned or neglected. We were not meant for extreme adulation or ripped to shreds by media masses. We are not built to take betrayal or any emotional, sexual, or physical abuse.
We were not built for accusations or insults. We were not designed for Violence or Violation.

We we made to be loved.

Protected and secured. Understood and understanding.
Every Single Being with deep affections and connection. Trusted and safe and we esteeming  higher by each other.
......................
God created the Garden of Eden. The  well thought understanding of the original language basically suggests... the Garden of Pleasure!

Every night going to sleep under the very loud bright explicit milky way. Pleasure!  The eyes open up every morning looking at blue sky? Pleasure. The  music of birds and fragrance of the flowers all the  day long. Umm pleasure?
Every where you turn there is delight and fancy and curiosity.. o yes ......  PLEASURE!

God insured all of creation will get pleasure thru art or science or passion or challenge.
I am going by my understanding of what God  is like.
What looks like GOD if study 1 Cor 13 and Calvary
He is the Servant and the Selfless.

It was never about GOD getting praises or kudos for anything.
It was all about GOD/LOVE  THEIR SELVES (the GOD Family) always multiplying always giving always sharing always creating

HE did not create us to love HIM .....  but   to   be   Loved    by   HIM.

HE gives us HIMSELF
and in that we love and delight in HIM

The title of your thread and your final statement prompted my recollection of two Scriptures on the positive side and one on the negative:

Psalm 16:8-11 (KJV): 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Isaiah 53:10 (KJV):  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV): This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Kind regards

I appreciate your response, but I find the use of the word pleasure to be ambiguous, and many that claim to worship God may consider the seeking of pleasure acceptable because their conscience is not fully awakened to the crucified life required for those who seek to worship him in sincerity and truth.

The following is an online dictionary definition and examples:

pleasure n.

1. The state or feeling of being pleased or gratified.

2. A source of enjoyment or delight: (The graceful skaters were a pleasure to watch.)

3. Amusement, diversion, or worldly enjoyment: ("Pleasure ... is a safer guide than either right or duty") (Samuel Butler).

4. Sensual gratification or indulgence.

5. One's preference or wish: (What is your pleasure)?

Items 3 and 4 do not seem to agree with the Godly life required.

A Concise Oxford Dictionary also in its second definition shows the ambiguity of the word, as it describes a way of life that is inconsistent with the Godly life:

pleasure n.

1. Enjoyment, delight;

2. Sensuous enjoyment as the chief object of life, as a (life given up to pleasure, man of pleasure), profligate.

Kind regards Trevor

So glad to see this idea in "print". Indeed, we were made for pleasure! Why the very first command God gave to Adam and Eve was to be fruitful and multiply. It is perversion to take God out of the mix. But pleasure, indeed, was what we were made for! God's good pleasure and our good pleasure.
