Administrators Gail Posted June 21, 2016 Administrators Posted June 21, 2016 I need to come up with a couple titles of books which would make nice gifts for pastors' wives. Any suggestions? I tend not to read women's books. What is out there? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Jessie-Jess Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 When you come up with an idea, or when someone gives you an idea, "google it in quotation marks." If a lot of results spring up, it's probably not a good title. What specifically do these books address? Or are they devotional books, or cover a range of topics specific to life as a pastor's wife? I'm pretty sure she's already *checked the ABC*. LOL Gail, I think you should ask pastor's wives what they enjoy reading. I have a feeling there is a lot of material out there that they've already read and aren't interested in reading again. Maybe they want something funny, or a biography of a politician, or a book on archery or coal mining; maybe a manual on Photoshop or InDesign; maybe a picture book of flyfishing. Quote
pierrepaul Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I'm not a pastor's wife (or even a woman), but I do enjoy reading. Based on my own predilections and those of fellow bibliophiles I know, readers are often quite particular about books. People often buy me books as gifts, but rarely does it match my tastes. However the last time someone wanted to get me a book, he asked my wife (or rather he had his wife ask my wife); the book was an excellent choice and is very near the top of my "to read" pile. Perhaps you can ask her husband - maybe he knows what she likes to read. Quote God never said "Thou shalt not think".
Administrators Gail Posted June 22, 2016 Author Administrators Posted June 22, 2016 This is to be a gift to pastors' wives at Campmeeting from the Ministerial Dept. I went around and grabbed a handful of what I thought would be some thought-provoking titles. What was chosen was... A colouring book. The title is, Garden of Eden, by Concordia. The director's secretary saw it, fell in love with it and grabbed it.. She is not a pastor's wife but wanted one, too. I think this was the motivation for the final decision. Liz Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I received a coloring book for Christmas and absolutely love it. I'm sure they will enjoy it as well.
