Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 22, 2016 Moderators Posted June 22, 2016 For reference, see page 118 of the July/August Reader's Digest: 1) A Trenton, NJ Councilwoman reported to the Trenton City Council on the "Blue Waffle Disease, that had already killed 85 women in the U.S. The identifying mark of this disease, as she reported it, was that it turned certain parts of the female anatomy to the color of blue. She later discovered it to be an April Fool's Day hoax. For more on this, to include the name of the Trenton Council person, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_waffle 2) A thief who stole a book form the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center and was caught when he attempted to sell it at a book store. The title: "Resolving Ethical Issues." 3) A thief robbed a bank in New Jersey of some $4,000. He was caught by the police drinking coffee at a nearby Dunkin' Donuts. 4) A man in Wales broke into a home and attempted to steal some of its contents. In the process he sat down to eat some of the ice cream and fell fast asleep. 5) In China a man sold two young pups to another man who wanted to raise two good watchdogs. They grew into two big black bears. A true story from my experience: The PA where I was assigned in Korea was havng his Orange Juice stolen from the Refrigador in the community kitchen where he lived with some of the other officers. So, one day he put some phenothaline in his OJ and waited. Shortly a very distraut Captain came to him for medical help. He was just about to take some vacation back to the U.S. and visit with his wife. Now he urine had turned this awful color. The PA assured him that he would have to remain in Korea while extensive studies were done to determine if he had contacted some dread disease that could affect his wife and others in the U.S. After listening to the Captain for a while, the PA said: You know it would be very helpful to us and potentially save a lot of time as we attempt to determine the cause for this, if you would share with me any exposure you might have had with orange juice. You see, we know that urine can turn this color, sometimes, when people drink orange juice that they did not purchase themselves. When this happens, the solution is simply to no longer drink OJ that you have not purchased. Quote Gregory
