The Cud:
Simple Definition of cud
the food that an animal (such as a cow) brings back up from its stomach into its mouth to be chewed again

Full Definition of cud
food brought up into the mouth by a ruminating animal from its first stomach to be chewed again

because most posters are not livestock men, they do not know what these things mean
to chew the Cud;
A cow has four stomachs, the first and largest of which is called the paunch or rumen
as a cow grazes, eats;
she rolls the mouthful into a ball, and swallows it into the 1st stomach or rumen
after a few hours of grazing, she gets a good drink of water;
lays down for a few hours, and reguriates these balls of vegitation up
and
"Chews the Cud"
getting all the nutrition she can get out of that bite of food
then she swallows it into the 2nd stomach for digestion

as a Judge at a livestock show, like the county Fair;
one of the things you look for is;
how an animal stands, are they standing on all 4's
are they "Cloven - footed"
or are they off balance

these are the characteristics you are too look for in your teachers
and eat / learn from them only

those that are given to, as Paul says
"But shun profane and vain babblings"
old wives tales; the latest fad; political Correct-ness
etc. etc. etc.
