D. Allan Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Even animals can at least "learn" new ideas. If our attentive feline wishes to sit on my papers, she has learned to move if I whisper in her ear "off!" Likewise I gain most of "my" new ideas from reading books. Lessons taught me by others. Sometimes a new idea will surprise the brain........... but where does it come from? Ah.... Only the brain knows! Charity, Stan and Tom Wetmore 3 Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
dgrimm60 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 D. ALLEN every person can learn a new idea---but that does not mean the idea is new ---some one else also learned or new this idea dgrimm60 D. Allan 1 Quote
Charity Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I suppose the wisest man ever lived stated that there is nothing new under the sun - hmmmm- did someone think up the Internet way back in Adam's time ??? Guess it would not be a fair statement to say then. But much more plausible in Solomon's time. And more in ours. I guess it's the thought - not the execution - that is the main point. Ellen Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 My teacher in the 1950s had an idea that one day people would show up at a station and instantly be transported to their destination with their suitcase in some unknown way. If that ever happens it couldn't be called a new idea because Eld. Sowers thought of it decades ago. Stan 1 Quote
