Stan Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 During my junior and senior years in college, I worked the night shift at a large Massachusetts state mental institution to pay my college expenses. I was officially in charge of the violent ward from 11 pm to 7 am and the only one on duty. It was a very choice job because it permitted me to study all night while being able to get adequate sleep following my daytime classes. CoAspen Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Interesting. We have more 'insanity on the street' because of the lack of funding for such by Insurance, etc. Hospitals used to have mental health wings but now not so much, maybe a rarity. Insanity in the world has been unleashed in large part due to the break up of powers like the USSR. Where once old hatreds were held in check they are now unloosed. The chasm between the haves and have-nots has increased. The world has grown smaller and 'fights' are now seen almost instantly. The media coverage of happenings now makes it possible for the most extreme behavior to be seen. It has become a world of 'I am the most important'. We no longer believe that I am my brothers keeper. Instant gratification. Could got on and on and on. Populations have grown so more people means more mental health issues. Religion has long been used to try for the control of others and conquest of nations and lands. (my opinions) Quote
Administrators Gail Posted August 2, 2016 Administrators Posted August 2, 2016 I see a Great Controversy scenario coming closer, don't you? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
CoAspen Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I believe that there have points in time when prophecy could have been fulfilled. What did the world think when the A-bombs fell on Japan. So I don't think we are any closer or farther away from events that were talked about in Revelation or The GC. I believe we have always been close. I may get involved in discussions about inspiration, EGW, WO, diet, etc, etc, but to me they are not all that important in the grand scheme, side trackers I call them. My belief is live each day as if it is you last and believe the sun will come up tomorrow. The longer life goes by, the more I become a solid believer in John 3:16 as the only hope for the future. Would that be in Worcester, Massachusetts?? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
