years ago, Archie Moore spoke at our church one Sabbath, and told his story during the worship hour.  It kept all us kids (and the adults, as well) spellbound.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Yes,  But first, I want to see if anyone can tell us who is not of SDA background, as I have defined it in the question.

You will note that some on the list have recently been in the news and if you are up on that you will know.

Some have been in the news in our lifetime.

Some are well known in Adventist history, both 19th and 20th Cent.

Some are well known in other countries, but probably not in the U.S. A.

Every person on my list has one or more Internet websites that mention that person's religious background.  However, In some cases I have used my personal knowledge to go beyond what you can probably find on the Internet.

And now the answer to my question:  All of the people whom I have listed have a SDA background, as I have defined it!

James K. Humphrey was at one time an ordained SDA minister, and represents a sad case of Adventist race relations.

Kim Il Sung, the former President of North Korea grew up on a Presbyterian family.  In Korea, the Presbyterian denomination is strong.  His father was Presbyterian clergy.  Due to what he has stated in  his autobiographical writings, it cannot be stated as to the level of commitment of his mother.  However, his grandmother was a devout Seventh-day Adventist.  This is of major interest due to the role that his grandfather played in the formation of North Korea.   During the early years that KIm Il Sung ruled the religion of his grandmother was well known among the  members of the ruling party.  You ask how this was possible:  Christianity entered North Korea in a significant way in the 1880s.   In 1907 there was religious revival in North Korea that resulted in 1,000 Christian congregations in the metro-capital city area.

During my college years I became interested in the number of important (criminal, politicians and others) people who had a SDA background.  The SDA Church has its share of all of those.  At the present time there are websites that list large numbers of such people with a SDA background.  In preparing to post on this subject I found such that listed 100 (estimate as I did not count) or more such people.

I was gonna say that it seems most if not all have some kind of connection with the church!
