Isn't it rather interesting that the Pentecostals and other protestant churches, by and large, teach that the law (God's moral law) is abolished and that we are no longer under law but under grace and yet these days, these same churches are calling for a Ten commandment Day to declare that God's moral law is eternal, on May 7th 2006?

Aren't they now also realising that in the midst of that law is the 4th commandment and the sabbath?

I wonder if God is using that movement to bring to the consciousness of men, women, boys and girls that the 4th commandment still stands, so that they will make their decision when the Sunday Law is passed, on the side of God, if they wish?

Somehow I also see this ten commandment move to also be leading to a push towards the passing of Sunday Law.

What do others think?

Would be very happy to hear all shades of views. Thank you, folks.

Ironic indeed!!! They are finally realizing how asenine & stupid it is to believe that God nailed the law to the Cross. The sheer weight of crime & suffering from man's inhumanity to man is forcing them to acknowledge the need for the law that they had relegated to a theological junk pile.

Yes, I can see how the Sabbath & Sunday can come to the forefront as agitation & demand for more law & order is heard because the disintegration of society as a result of crime & immorality.

"In this warfare the Sabbath of the fourth commandment will be the great point at issue, for the Sabbath commandment the great Lawgiver identifies Himself as the Creator of the heavens and the earth." LDE 124.

Unquestionably, the recent emphasis on the Ten Commandments will be used by Satan to push for Sunday laws. In fact, over twenty years ago I read a pamphlet in a public library which called for strict enforcement of Sunday by the U.S. government ("government decree and action") and even quoted the OT death penalty for desecration of the (Sunday) Sabbath. BTW Seventh-day Adventists were named in that pamphlet as being the direct cause of America's problems at the time. (This was during the recession of the early '80's, and shortly after the humiliation and botched rescue operation which this country experienced in Iran in 1979.) I expect to hear this kind of reasoning again, before long.

BTW I should add that in my experience, not that many evangelicals now teach that the TC have been abolished.

Interesting, folks. Thank you for your answers. And isn't it great that our beliefs as SDA are being vindicated? Praise God! First, our health message as endorsed by the National Geographic, some months ago and now our belief on the eternity of the moral law of God. Thank God for His scriptures. Thank God for the SDA Church. Thank God for his endtime prophet, Sis White.

And imagine Archerius that you said that SDAs have already been blamed since the 80's, for the problems in the then US world? Quite enlightening! Just as reealed by Sis White in Great Controversy.

And imgine also that the TC is no longer generally considered as being abolished? How the pentecostals must now be very confused! Thank God that the Holy Spirit is working with so many of them now and they are coming to a deeper understanding of God's truth!!!

I am excited folks at these times that we live in. Aren't you? Let us pray for one another that God's Holy Spirit will use us mightily in these last days.

[:"blue"] Dave, is there a way you can retrieve this pamphlet and make it available to us? [/]

Gerry, I had a copy for awhile, but no longer have it. Some years ago, I had excerpted the pamphlets and shared them in slide programs which I presented in a number of states. However, all of that was reportedly tossed out in the wake of my divorce. I don't know if copies may still be acquired. However, the publisher is:

Destiny Editorial Letter Service

Box 177

Merrimac, MA 01860

The website is:

http://www.destinypublishers.com

The author of the pamphlet was Howard Rand, Ll.B. whose publications the website offers.

Two pamphlets were published by Mr. Rand in the early 80's. I happened to be sitting in the magazine room at the Norwalk Public Library one afternoon, and noticed these pamphlets there. I pulled them out of the rack and started reading them. As I read them, cold chills went up my back. The wording was very similar to what EGW foretold in the book, GC. I vividly remember one phrase from the first one:

"There will be no relief from mounting aconomic disaster until Sunday, nationally recognized the Sabbath, is strictly enforced by government decree and action."

The second pamphlet specifically named Adventists as representing a spirit of discord, introduced by the Adversary, "destroying our former united acceptance of Sunday as the Lord's day" and causing the problems which America experienced in the late 70s and early 80s. Ellen G. White was named as the founder of the SDA. Mr. Rand went on to say: "What is the penalty for failure or refusal to keep holy the Lord's Sabbath?" And he went on to quote from Exodus, where the death penalty is enjoined by God for Sabbath-breaking.

I wish I could find another copy of these two pamphlets. I believe that the very line of reasoning propounded by Mr. Rand will be adopted by this nation, when the final crisis comes. Incidentally, some months later, I met someone from the deep South who told me that he had seen people handing these pamphlets out in his area. So, I assume they had national coverage--at least, California, the NE and the deep South.
