CoAspen Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Enjoyed, agreed! However, I wouldn't go so far as to say that they are delaying. Perhaps, leading into a wilderness where some may be lost due to becoming unbelivers. My belief is that the 2nd Coming takes place when God sees no future in delaying. JoeMo Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I believe that God has an appointed time that we can neither hasten or delay. That being said, I agree that the 7 myths described in the article are indeed hindrances to saving faith - either for ourselves or to those to whom we minister. Quote
8thdaypriest Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Loved the article Gregory. Thanks. It's good to know there are teachers within the SDA church who "get it" - that "the judgment" is ABOUT Jesus Christ. Our "perfection" will be a long time coming. We have no idea how damaged we really are. It will take a thousand years in a "safe" environment, to bring perfect trust to our hearts and to heal every trace of the damage sin has caused. Some might think they are ready to "rule the nations". My answer would be, "No way!" JoeMo 1 Quote 8thdaypriest
Administrators Gail Posted September 10, 2016 Administrators Posted September 10, 2016 It might depend upon whose interpretation of the word "perfection" we understand. Is ours the same as God's? Much has changed in our understanding of the Judgement the last few years, which has been exciting. God is FOR us, no against us! LifeHiscost and JoeMo 2 Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
LifeHiscost Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I would also like to say there is a decided difference between the imperfect person and the wicked, and I see a lot of wickedness in the world today that I didn't see in the world 50 years ago, although I have to admit there was a lot hidden in society that today is not hidden. It does seem that long ago, even the unrepentant knew certain things were wrong whereas either it is unrecognized or there is an attitude today indicating "so who cares". The suicide rate today indicates many care but just don't know how best to extricate themselves from entanglement. IOW they haven't a personal relationship with Jesus. God is Love!~Jesus saves!
