Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 17, 2016 Members Posted September 17, 2016 I can't help but wonder if the Adventist church would be endorsing the movie if Desmond Doss had been a conscientious objector from another faith... That said, I can hardly wait to see the film! Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Stan Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 @rudywoofs (Pam) in the movie, it is also clear he is a Sabbath Keeper, and a vegetarian.. that helps. the NAD is not endorsing this, the GC seems to be. rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 17, 2016 Members Posted September 17, 2016 I think it's going to be a great way for the public to be introduced/re-introduced to the Adventist way of life.. LifeHiscost Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 The phrase listed at the bottom below, exemplifies the reality. It more often than not is voiced by Christians of today, either asking for or thanking God for helping them do one or another task, whereas that seems to me to be somewhat as revealed how the people of the church in Jesus' day accepted the Word. "All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!"....Exodus 24 However; We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.....Hebrew 12 ...NLT And more important, people will be talking about Desmond Doss’ faith, his beliefs, and the remarkable God who enabled Doss to carry himself with such grace, commitment, and bravery. Underlined mine. Seems not an unimportant point to me. God is Love!~Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 18, 2016 Author Moderators Posted September 18, 2016 In all of this, we owe a man named Stan a vote of thanks for the part that he had in getting this movie filmed. It took him years of work. We should not forget the contribution that he made to the life of the SDA denomination. LifeHiscost, phkrause, JoeMo and 1 other 4 Quote Gregory
